India on top. Such a happy feeling as an Indian fan. Sympathies with all the Aussie fans who I am sure are distraught.

Genius call from Haddin, keeping the strike off Clarke for the last over.

It's almost certain to be futile, but this partnership has been very ballsy and puts the performance of the other batsmen into perspective. I don't mind Hayden's dismissal, the chances of him mistiming a sweep are generally pretty miniscule so it's hard to put it down to undue risk-taking. Katich, IMO, was the worst dismissal of the day by a distance.
Yep, some of the batsmen need to have a look at themselves as, with the exception of one ball to Ponting, it has basically done nothing out there

In regards to Hayden, no way in the wide world that should have been given out - if you're not going to give someone the benefit of the doubt when they are 2 metres down the track and facing someone bowling around the wicket then batting averages the world over will plummet massively

It hit him in line, and it was hitting the stumps. You can talk about doubt all you like, but by the letter of the law, that was an excellent decision. Unlucky for Hayden though, wouldn't normally be given.

Distraught? Never. As Milton said "What though the field be lost?
All is not lost—the unconquerable will . . .
And courage never to submit or yield..."

Good to see us challenged. Disappointing to see our good top order let themselves down, and a bit sobering to see how much Clark, and Lee's good form, has been carrying our bowling, but we're still a good team. and there's still a day's play to go. ;)

Well said

No shame in being beaten

Shame will come if they dont learn from the experience and actually turn up with a plan and commitment next time around

Yaaaa Link

Slightly different scenario.....they did bat around 55 overs but this time around these 2 will have to bat another 60 to have any thoughts of even drawing the game ......
There is no chance Australia are gonna draw this game now, Clarke and Haddin might fall in the first hour of the game itself, leave alone lasting the whole day.

Will the real Australia please stand up?

Glad to see Indian bowlers dominating so well. Also glad to see for a change Clarke surviving close of play.

Ponting = Ishant's bunny when not Bhajji's

And dunno why people are whining abt Hayden's dismissal, fair call on an Indian pitch.

Great display by India again. I hope they continue to show the same professional attitude that they've shown in this match for the rest of the series and beyond. Completely outplayed Australia on all the four days so far. Hopefully we can have a good final day tomorrow and bowl them out just after lunch or before tea at the most.

WTF was Hayden doing? Going all out on attack? One can understand his aggression against the quicks on a road, but this is also a turner, and he played absolutely gross stroke there!

Let's not get too excited here. Australia did not become the best team in the world by not being able to get out of tough situations. Clarke is an excellent player of spin, and these two have neutralized the spinners, with excellent stroke play. Batting out the day is not out of the question.

This one partnership already batted out 30 overs, the next five just need to bat out the next 90.
