Getting pretty close to stumps now, with the Aussies a few runs up, and 7 wickets in hand. What are people's predictions? I still think India is right on top, and it'll require something very special from Warne if we're to win this match.

well I was thinking Australia and India were on level terms..but now India have to be favesto win this....although if Australia can get a lead of even just 180 or so, it might still be a very interesting game

But two matches would take him out of the series!

Seriously, this is India's shot at the test number two position. They're very likely to win this match, any disaster notwithstanding. Why drop a player with such a great record against Australia? Surely you'd wait until the end of the series for that kind of bloodletting.
I have said already that if we win the test, we dont drop him. Only if we lose AND he fails in the second knock. Then India would be in a dire situation and will need to be prepared to take dire measures.

It has been done before with other great players. Of course if we keep playing him, he will eventually come good but thats not a great strategy if things are not going too well.

Australia should forget about winning and worry about surviving.

Er.... With Gilly out, it's teetering perilously close to game over.

What? Game over! If Lehman performs and so does Clarke, it is a long way from game over. Gillespie is steady and hits the bad balls. Besides Martyn is still in and hitting the Indian bowlers well.

In case you didn't notice, all the Australian batsmen have gotten out with their score including a 9. Creepy.

I'd wait at least until the series was actually lost before dropping somebody like Laxman. Even though I'm sure he's used to it by now, I'm still shocked at how quickly the knives come out for him.

I really don't think a draw is very feasible.
Sunday will be a great day of test cricket.

This is what makes test cricket the real stuff.

We have to survive tonight with no more wickets...if Martyn,Lehman and Clarke get their heads down and really graft I think we can still win this one..it will be tough going though...I think setting a target of say 180 to 200 will be tricky for India..they havent got good starts so far this series..a couple of quick wickets chasing a smallish target with Warne bowling well and I think India may struggle. The key is that Australia must not lose more than one wicket before lunch tomorrow

Im still very concerned as an Indian supporter about Lehmann and Clarke, but I'm still pretty relaxed. We look in charge, and we should really be happy with nothing except a victory here as we've worked enormously hard all game and Kumble has been absolutely amazing. That being said, Clarke and Lehmann await......

That's right, be afraid! Good to see someone has some confidence in them, considering that Lehmann is dangerously out of form and Clarke is called garbage by half of the nation.
