Lol, the Indians love Warney and it's great to see him having fun. He did the Hogan taunt lol.

Edit: Master you beat me to it ;)

Hoping that McGrath will take advantage and do something with the new ball.

Like in the 1st test, maybe reverse swing will come into play.

Do you think anything with the Chennai crowd being friendly is because Warne beat Murali? Or just because of another reason.

This is starting to look pretty grim. I was hoping that with the rush of wickets while the Indians were just behind, we could maybe restrict the margin to 30-50. Given how the match has played up to this point, 70 or more is going to make it very hard for the Aussies to build any kind of decent lead.

Having said this, in Sri Lanka we managed it more than once, but IMO if we don't clean up the tail real fast, we'll likely be heading to Nagpur at 1-all.

BTW, Sehwag309, thanks for the cricbuzz tip - half the time I couldn't load up cricinfo, the traffic must be too heavy (very frustrating).

The tail would look more dangerous if Pathan was yet to bat. As it is, he can't slog Warne for six. Hopefully when this partnership is broken, the tail will collapse. I am hoping that the partnership is broken quickly, so Warne will be able to have a go at Harbhajan without getting knocked for 6.

Congratulations to Shane Warne on reaching 533 at last!!

Now at least Murali can rest in peace.

I am sure fans in Chennai know that Murali's forefathers originated from Tamil Nadu.

So they are unlikely to have cheered Warne for beating Murali's record.

They probably are cheering for the fact that their ground will go down as where Shane claimed the world record!!

Might be thinking the ground and themselves will be famous. Fair enough. It would be pretty unsportsmanlike to not clap and cheer if someone broke or held the world record.

Some quotes:

"Why don't you come out and bat?"

"What were you doing, standing in the middle?"

"It's Benson & Hedges and Foster's time!"

Hmmm...the Aussies are definitely making an average tailender look a great batsman. The fielding was quite sub-par, with as many as 4 dropped catches, a few loose overthrows and misfields.

Australia had better dig in tomorrow, this slow but steady partnership could prove to be costly. Could pile on runs and set a huge target. It is pretty much over after this.

Good day's test cricket.

Great hundred by Shewag.

World record to Warne.

Fight back from the Aussies and then by the Indians.

First session tomorrow may be the key.

On a side note, why are the Australians still keeping their long hair here? In hot places, especially in the subcontinent, the players from relatively colder places either shave their heads, or cut their hair short. McGrath, Gillespie and clarke are doing the opposite!
