A cricketing population of many millions, and still bankrupt of alternatives- Jimmy Amarnath is right about the Indian selectors. The likes of Bhandari, Salvi and Paul have been bowling well, and can't do worse tan a little man with a big bowling average- you can't win Test matches at 44 runs per wicket!Deja moo said:^ Why dont you answer the question yourself ?
Yes, I agree.Arjun said:Laxman Sivaramakrishnan has made a good point- the Indians were just too defensive. It won't win matches, especially against a team that believes in scoring quickly.
They should be. Given a really bad performance for so long, and hitting a trough in a home series, something is really wrong. It's about time someone does a Tehelka and investigates the murky insides.Deja Moo said:That doesnt mean the changes will be made
Sure it is.marc71178 said:But it's not replacing a number 7?
It won't happen. Watson has been sent home to Australia. Hodge was called back after Lehmann was was injured as he was also sent home.Mr Casson said:Ponting has arrived, but he is no guarantee for the fourth test either is he?
That leads me to believe that if Ponting is still not fit (I assume with Lehmann out that Ponting will play even if not 100%), Katich will stay at 3, Clarke and Gilchrist will move up and we could be seeing Shane Watson making his debut at number 7 as an extra seamer as well. Now that's a match I'd like to see!
I know Hodge is there, but Watto is far better suited to number 7.
