Smith turning into root with 100 conversion

And we missed Maxwell at the end. Always does well in Asia

Those "old school totals" are what happens when sides play their best bowling attacks instead of the under 16s 3rd XI bowlers that we saw for the last 5 years (world cup excluded).

I mean look how big of an impact taking a single top order wicket early on has on a total. Rohit could easily have gone on to score 150 if it was Coulter-Nile and Behrendorff instead of Starc and Cummins.
Next game 300+ v 300+.

Didn't IND beat them last year 4-1 in NZ. NZ are not better than IND/ AUS.
can't hear you over the sound of indias top order being destroyed in the semi mate
Pretty much what I'm saying. They lost almost every group game against quality opposition, and iirc by quite a bit. 4th best is about right, they definitely didn't look top 2. I remember considering them lucky to make the top 4 on points but I can't remember exactly why . . . there might have been a washout in their favour or something idk
did our usual mental capitulation to a mediocre australian side, got blown away by england on a jamodi motorway and there was something about pakistan losing a pile of games then crying they missed the semis because we won more games hence net run rate.

then the knock outs occurred and we asserted our natural white ball dominance over the inferior nations until england purchased the umpires and fluked a tie.

we were the best team in that tournament shaaaame

In all fairness, we were Braithwaite hitting it a foot further to being out of the tournament. I agree, we're fourth best in the world, if you're talking about day to day. Can't help but feel India will do a hatchet job on us here, and we know we travel like a bag of prawns to Australia.

NZ, the only fans in the world who can make two finals in a row, basically win one, rank in the top 2 in the major formats and still bag on our chances. Justified, in reality, given our mud record v India SA and Australia

So looks like India batted well, we bowled poorly and Finch and Labushagne needed to go bigger. Good to have a decider.

Another day, another match in another series in another format in another location where TPC outscores Kohli. It must be like being Hammond to Smith’s Bradman.

feels weird for an india-aus series to be so short

The noise to relevance ratio of NZ supporters here is out of whack. Makes the recent capitulation in Aus feel all the sweeter.

Whatever it takes!!!
Burgey's salt is always good to see. For that reason alone, these JAM series are worthy. :p

Must be one of the highest scoring ODIs ever without a 100 from either of the sides, surely?

Warner getting out early was crucial. There was no need for him to hit it in the air when the outfield was so fast

The track did make it slightly difficult for Australia. Should have batted first on winning the toss. The dew did not happen, and while the track did not freshen up as much as I thought it can, it was still zipping a bit for the seamers more than it did for Australia when they were bowling. Apparently, the stats show that sides batting first win more often at Rajkot.

Anyone knows how to buy tickets for the 3rd game in Bangalore? Trying to see if I can get last minute tickets.
