As tight as the bowling's been, Kohli's gone into an inexplicable rut after rotating the strike well enough when play started. The batting equivalent of a writer's block. Must be agony.

I mean, both sides have batted like this now. Perhaps tells us something about the nature of the pitch and whether, contra the posting on Day 2, it's that easy to just go out and start Bazballing it everywhere if the bowling is accurate and the fields are well set.

When was the last time he batted this many balls in an innings?

Is it remarkable how similar the two bowling cards are. Pace going at 3.5+ an over, spinners going at 2rpo.
Just need to know who is paralleling who now between the 4 pacers. Real shame though is that we didn't get Bumrah and Cummins on this surface. Don't think either side would get to 400 then tbh.

Nope, take the Likes of Sanath/Sehwag/VVS/SRT/Lara on this pitch & they'd make the opposition grovel especially Sehwag! The current lot are just a sorry bunch of an excuse in the name of batting, talking about this Indian lineup ?‍♀

Bumrah hasn't really done anything of note at home against the likes of Oz/Eng/NZ/SA & Cummins would probably fare no better.

They'd throw away just as much wickets because they can't be saved by pre DRS techniques. Bit hilarious to say this when before 2021 Indian batters were making runs for fun on good batting wickets.

Cummins was superb on pitches every bit as flat as this last year. He's a huge miss for Aus on a surface like this, just as Bumrah is for India. Afaic those two are head and shoulders above everyone else in the world when it comes to wrangling out wickets on dead pitches.

Honestly it's really getting on my nerves, people blithely declaring that it should be easy to score boundaries for fun on this pitch against quality bowlers despite there being no evidence at all that that's the case. Consistently ignoring the actual cricket in front of them in favour of the match going on in their own imaginations.

I reckon Shaheen and Anderson can do the same on there day, maybe not as consistently. Anderson inparticular is probably as good at it as those 2 nowadays.

just another variation of nostalgia blinding people and believing in the good old days and cricketers they grew up watching/watched when they were most interested in cricket to be the best
