I don’t care about him being a #11 - the Siraj wicket really pissed me off more than anything else this game. He’s not even a Shami or Yadav that could potentially pull off a shot like that. He knew before he played it that there was probably a 75% chance of him getting out doing it. ****ing braindead batting.
Yeah like why on earth did he even do that lmao? Just block the ****ing ball and stay in. It's not like he was even trying to get a single to get axar on strike, that shot was either 6 or out.

Attack is the best form of defence

It was especially cunty because Axar was turning down singles to try and farm the strike. When that happens the message is clear that you a should just try to make it to the end of the over if you find yourself on strike.

Siraj ain't a thinker but a doer.

C’mon guys Siraj has a 16* in Tests, he clearly knew he was India’s best chance for a defendable total, just got an absolute pearler from an absolute ATG

I did think Rohit's captaincy prior to tea was remarkably poor in an oddly unremarkable sort of way; the sheer number of easy singles on offer unquestionably made it far easier for Khawaja and Labuschagne to settle in and get the scoreboard ticking. Basically gave away the entire first innings lead for minimal risk - well, as minimal as you can get on a pitch where every third ball is doing something completely random.

Whilst not a fan of pitches like this, it is producing a highly watchable match.

Fair play to the Aussies, they've been excellent in this test and taken full advantage of India's top order struggles. Whilst the pitch was tricky on day 1, it was still a 175 to 200 pitch.

Lyon was very good today and has put the Aussies in a very strong position and they should complete the job tomorrow.

Kohli needs to step aside from Test Cricket.

He can't play spin. And gets bogged down against outside the corridor fast bowling. So can't properly play either. He has been useless for 3 years!

At least Pujara was gun in Australia twice and has pulled off good innings once in a while (despite the failures).

Kohli on the other hand has no credit from last 3+ years. He's done jack all, nor is he capable of it anymore, particularly on difficult pitches.

Whatever it takes!!!
That sucked. Virat was again pretty unlucky with umpire's call decisions going against him. Guess someone up there really does not want him to stage a comeback.

He has no shots behind square on the on side against spin and on the offside against pace. You really cannot score runs in test cricket in bowling friendly conditions which we face regularly both home and away, if you basically cut off 1/6th of your scoring options against all types of bowling.

Australia should romp this even allowing for the first session voodoo tomorrow. Hope Rohit actually captains with some instinct tomorrow.

Few things I'de like to note just on rewatching the highlights of the days's play. A) our fielding was spot on today, particularly at crucial points like the iyer/pujara dismissals. Big difference between this innings and the past 2 games is that smith dropped 2 catches in the axar/ashwin partnership in the 2nd test and we dropped 2-3 catches after having india 5-180 with a chance of bowling them out for sub 300 in the 1st test. If smith or khawaja had dropped those catches we could easily be looking at an extra 30 runs and a chase of 120-150 which is a massive difference on a deck like this.

B) Green's impact. Hasn't been needed to bowl this game but he's still done much better then renshaw when he was playing. That catch he took off umesh would have gone for 6 or been a relay save for two if any other fielder in the team was on the fence, and his partnership with handscomb was crucial aswell. His inclusion over renshaw has given us an extra 30-40 runs, which once again makes a MASSIVE difference on this kind of pitch.

Maybe it's time Kohli retires from Test cricket and focuses on ODI's and T20s or maybe he will be dropped from the Test team. He has nothing more to prove at Test level and his batting in Test cricket seems to be on the decline fast.
