At least one good thing besides Murphy came out of the first test - I have a $100 bet with an Indian co-worker on who will perform better this series, Smith or Kohli. Good start for me I believe.
Wow. That is 100 dollars of free money.

Kohli's dropped 6 catches in his last 2 tests I think. Almost cost us against Bangladesh, could prove costly if he drops Smith early in one of his inevitable big scores.

How difficult is it to see that slip is not his favorite position? Rohit or any one else will surely do a better job.

Can’t even remember tbh.
In all seriousness, what happened to Kohli?

Still remember that imperious Perth hundred few months after a killer series in England where he put all the few remaining doubters to rest. He was the king of the world and all of the sudden decided not to be very good. So odd

He got married.

Seriously, the guy thrived off machismo, manufactured and pathetic as it may have been. And he believed in it too, ridiculous as it appeared to us, and that's why he was so good. Like KP, really. Marriage has neutered him and he's brought the empty nutsack dragging behind him to the cricket field.

Yeah the fire is gone. Not sure if its marriage or not, but he lacked the intensity clearly.

He averages 48 now. If he fails in this series again, honestly what's the point playing him? Drop him and if he is good enough, he will make it back to the team.

It really does show just how exceptional Ashwin and Jadeja have been with both ball and bat (not to mention Pant) that India have had the success they have had with a massive, gaping black hole at 4 and 5 in the last few years. Seriously, put up a telescope and you could do an astronomy PhD on it.

As @Burgey said, simply you CANNOT allow spinners to beat the inside edge. You cannot whatever you need to do, do not let that happen. That’s the single best thing Aus can do to win.

They're definitely the main men. Rohit has gone a bit under the radar imo though, he's played several massive innings in incredibly challenging conditions and he's been a massive loss whenever he inevitably gets injured.

I think he deserves the long rope he's been given because he's had a great career, but the rope's run out at this point. If he fails in the next 1-2 tests and Australia find a way back into the series, he simply has to go. Not sure the selectors have the balls though.

He will keep playing unless India loses the series. Let’s not forget Sehwag/Gambhir/Yuvaraj were permanently binned after the loss in 2012 series.

Our quicks are consistently good too. It's a well rounded team apart from the 3 idiots
It's so weird to see the team succeeding without the no.3,4 and 5 performing. When a team is doing well we often take it for granted that the middle order is doing well too.
