Starc on Renshaw

"The more time he spends out in the middle the less time we have to listen to him," Starc said, laughing. "He's different but he's a lovely kid. Loves his cricket, just loves batting - so I think that's obviously shown in how he's gone about his cricket in India.

"His first trip there, he's learning - he's probably not eating the right things, being sick all the time - but he's performing quite well. He says some strange things, he comes up with some strange theories. He talks a load about [Don] Bradman and whether he scored those runs. He keeps talking about bats these days. He talks like he's 35."
Man he's so likeable. Along with Hameed he's probably my favourite young cricketer atm.

Renshaw is interested in the history of cricket!! He's like us!! Renshaw is both my favourite smoggy and my favourite Australian.

Iyer coming in could be great for India. Guy looks in terrific touch. The only downside being that they'll have to forego 6 of the greatest and most *** appeal filled runs from the Kaptain.

Renshaw doubts whether Bradman scored all those runs or not?

That's an amazing conspiracy.
Yeah, if he genuinely believes that Bradman might not have actually scored those runs, then that would be pretty, er, interesting, but tbf I can kind of imagine that if you're a young batsman who has relatively recently been exposed to test cricket and how difficult and demanding it is, the more incredible records do probably start to seem almost literally unbelievable.

His doubting of the Don is Renshaw's inner Pom bubbling out. The boy can eat barbecues, play a didgeridoo, watch Neighbours, but he will always be 'Boro born and therefore a Pom. Come on Matt, tell that Aussie dressing room that you are an admirer of Douglas Jardine.

Apparently Neighbours is actually more popular in the UK than in Australia

It used to be. Neighbours and Home and Away were big in the UK during the '80s and '90s, back when Kylie and Jason were active. Now they are both on Channel 5 which about sums up their popularity today. Aussies love a good mullet.
