I'm not watching this but I'm pretty sure we'll pull this out. Even if these two bat out the next fifteen overs. The game will pick up once the finish line comes into sight.
If Aus manage to gat a few runs in front it wont matter about the finishing line anymore, India will lose heart as soon as the Aussies start putting on a lead and the batsmen wont be so worried, India need wickets before Aus can knock off the lead.

Jeez, this is depressing from a NZ POV seeing these batsmen tough it out against Ashwin and Jadeja on the 5th day in India, while our mob rolled over against Duminy and a decent Test spinner on a pitch that didn't turn.

Excellent over that, lead suddenly down to 21

Got to go to work now - based on experience gained during the England series this will bring about a flurry of wickets - sorry Australia

This match will go down as a massive fail in Ashwin's record.
Nah, he really didn't get a chance to bowl we he should have in all honesty. And this is still a good batting wicket even on day 5. Just some silly captaincy from Kohli/India to let things meander instead of going for the kill when Smith got out.

C'mon mate, he's human, you can't expect him to win them every match, not even McGrath and Hadlee managed that at home.
Can't remember Australia not closing out an advantageous position at home between '99-'07. Saying that, McGrath's support cast was certainly better.

Point taken though, guy is human after all. Even Steyn has failed to bowl teams out in the 4th innings at times (vs. India in Cape Town 2011, Australia in Jo'burg 2011 come to mind, and England a couple of times when Onions saved them).

The guy could do with a little less lip, for someone who's so unproven outside the country.
