agree with OS, winning a series in India is seen as the final frontier (well you know what I mean)

the trophy itself is secondary

No one really cares about the trophy though, right? It's all about the series result.
Don't give a **** about who retains the trophy. It will be tough for Australia to win if they lose here as their morale will be down, as compared to if they draw from this position and go all out in the last test.
Was kinda playing devil's advocate TBH. The fact that India aren't attacking the spinners seems odd. Shouldn't be declaring though.

Hayden's proto-human brain really struggling to grasp the concept of not slapping the ball in the air

How boring has this match been. I bet the referee isn't going to have a problem with this pitch.

I'm loving this. Love to see tired Aussies on the field.

Hope both Pujara and Saha cross their respective highest scores.

500 balls, raise your bat!

Seriously, Pujara could end up making the list of top 5 most risk free batsmen. Even Dravid after crossing 150 would loft spinners over long on at least few times.

Of course India should go for the win, for the simple reason that Australia very obviously aren't any more.

Kohli, please do your intent stichk the one time it actually makes sense.

I hope they're asked to come out in ODI mode. If we lose 4 wickets for 30 runs, so be it.

India just want to time the aggressive phase perfectly. Jadeja is the only decent batsman left. I guess India is targeting end of the day for declaration.

Anyway fair play to India but I have to say I stopped watching that session about half an hour in and I don't think I really missed anything.

Eh that wouldn't really be good tbh. Say Aus get to parity by stumps because of a Warner burst and are only, say, one down. Suddenly all three results would become possible again, which is surely not something Kohli should want to entertain at all.

Awesome partnership this. Just not giving us anything (unless it's a catch to the keeper which is virtually the same thing).

Australia though need to just do the same. Leave the #intent for the Ashes, play late and wait for the ball to score off. If they can't bat out three sessions on this deck they really will have lost the plot.

A draw here though shouldn't faze Australia at all. It puts the pressure right back on the home side. Australia will take 1-1 every day of the week.

nah, a draw from here gives Aussies a chance to win the series. India need to win here.
Not saying they should not go for a win... but still 30 odd overs left in the day on a pretty flat pitch, whole day tomorrow... batting out another 20 overs at least, is for me a good idea, yes they should up the scoring rate, but tiring out the Aussies more helps not just this match but the next test as well.

Nah don't agree - a lead of 170 by end of day before declaration will give India the best chance from here IMO.

There's no point in giving Australia a deficit of less than 100 and making them bat today. If there's a sure-shot recipe for draw, that is it.
