James Pattinson, best young fast bowler in the world says it's fair enough, it was a valuable task, it's our fault. But let's listen to what howardj and social on cricket web think.

Please guys, tell us everything about it.

We're all dying to know what howardj and social think of it.
We all know that going to lunch once with a cricket professional makes you a bigger expert than the playing and support group in the Australian cricket team.

Yeah him saying it's valuable means nothing, begs a lot of questions. Such as the one you asked.

It's obviously a silly thing to be asked to do in the first place, the guys not doing it are obviously even more silly, the punishment is sillier still. Not sure what else there is to say.

Funny for the rest of the world though.

The vice-captain says the penalty is 'very harsh', but what does Skidmark think?

He thinks on the eve of a series deciding Test, now might be a good time to make a point about discipline over what by any measure is a minor infraction

It's cracking a nut with a sledge-hammer in a desperate bid to be seen to be tough and be seen to be doing something on a tour where you've presided over really poor on-field performances

Well, I'd have a word with Arthur for making players do something so stupid, but the players (especially Watto) are way more at fault IMO. It's such a silly little thing - there's no excuse for not doing it.

Oh, and presided over some really bizarre, bordering on incompetent selections

But go Mickey, you're so fine, go Mickey

i think the worst thing about this whole thing is that we don't get the chance to straightout drop him on performance, which he oh so deserves

Although we dont know the full story, it's pretty obvious that neither the players (look at the results) or management (everything around the team is a shambles from selection to injury management to this) have being doing their job.

As a result, management has attempted to deflect attention/refloat the Titanic (depending on your perspective) by having a completely over the top reaction to a bull**** exercise

I dont mind a bit of discipline :naughty: but when the consequences are pretty likely to be a thrashing in this test with no guarantee of improvement then the whole thing strikes me (and the vast majority of the world's cricket community) as ludicrous
