Anyway about Xavier, his selection on the tour isn't that terrible. Having an extra spinner to do lots of donkey work in the nets and give batsman suspect against spin some confidence will only serve us well.

Also Maxwell and Smith are excellent additions to the touring party. It can get hot in India and having them as 12th and 13th man going onto the field as often as possible (rotating out the weak fielders) will lift our fielding standards by heaps.

Been a while since Smith, Johnson and Doherty were in a Test squad, good to see things progressing in the right direction for this summer.

Who keeps if Wade breaks down the morning of a match? Hughes?

Pretty sure Howe was referring to the last time that particular trio were together and how poorly we performed.
