*Official* Australia in India 2010

Many grounds in India have that type of record. Mohali - I think 220 was a record as well.

5th day Indian pitches are really hard to chase anything on.
Yeh it was a record, the previous was a terrible 144 or something!

I could have guessed that though from the Mohali pitch, because it really was doing some strange things, but this pitch seems to be relatively better on day 4. Still I would have thought a chase higher than 195 would have been achieved. Could be because only 10 tests have been played there though, so a pretty small sample.

Plus its successful chases.

4th innings scores may have been higher in draws.
Yeah, the successful chase statistics are always a touch pessimistic.

Still, the stats indicate that India is one of the toughest places for fourth innings chases. Made a thread on it last week.

LOL Dhoni. What happened to your ability against spin? If you can't hit Hauritz for atleast a couple of boundaries...

How do you know they're trying to win?
when the opposition puts 478 on board first up, you first work towards avoiding follow on; next, you want to get closer to the total and equal it without losing too many wickets. and then go for a lead and a win. india was always going for a win once sachin and vijay put took the team to 300 for 2. only, it takes time and continued effort to implement the plan. because the lead is not going to be big, this still is anybody's match. and, unless india keeps the fourth innings chase under 200, australia will have the upper hand on the last day.

Wow, this is very interesting now.

Be really intriguing to see how Oz approach this. Will they blast away, or play more conservatively leaving a draw as an option?

Have a feeling Watson will go early, can't see him getting a forth consecutive 50. The time for Clarke to shine this series is now or never.

Bowlers better earn their paycheck today. The pressure we are putting on the batsmen (whatever few of them are fit and in form) with all the lost tosses, tailend collapses and crap bowling is bound to tell eventually.

Never write off Australia, they keep proving it again and again.

India will play for a draw now. lets just hope we don't leak runs with the new ball. Because come the 40-50th over the ball will start to reverse.
