I wasn't sure about it and had to check his record in the last 12 months.. you're right about it but with him in the side, I feel more confident of Aussies chances. But what worries me about this Australia team is clarke.
Clarke's been mediocre at best since the last WC, hasn't really affected us too badly.

Clarke's one of the best limited overs players in the world, I wouldn't worry too much about him.

The real concern is Punter though, not the most consistent ODI player of recent times.

Gotta feel a bit for Bailey but, well, he didn't really smash the door down last season. Don't think he's ever averaged 50+ has he?

Well done to Usman.

Usually I wouldnt go near a guy's religion. But I do think it's awesome a Muslim has been picked for Australia.

I'm sure other Muslims would, GENERALLY SPEAKING, identify more with Usman than perhaps many of the other guys in the Aussie team (which has been remarkably Anglo-Saxon in the time I have followed cricket).

It's great to see some diversity in our team, and I hope this brings some more people into the Australian cricket family.

I note he is a Bluebagger though :(

Batting line up position 6 will be interesting.

North, Smith and Khawaja should be in the mix. But I cant see them selecting North for the squad if they didnt already plan to use him.

Great news for Usman. Should a batting place open up, Smith will surely get the nod before him, but it's good to see regardless. First XI should be a fairly unsurpising:

Watson
Katich
Ponting
Clarke
Hussey
North
Haddin
Johnson
Hauritz
Hilfenhaus
Bollinger

Would still much rather Smith over North, but I do reckon that's just about the best bowling attack we've got at the moment, at least in terms of the pacemen.

Made a post on this in another thread somewhere a few weeks back. Had a bit of a look and it Bailey has only ever averaged more than 40 a season on 3 occasions (including last) and even then the highest of those was only 42/43. Decent, but not exactly the sort of numbers that scream "test batsmen" at you.
