Oz getting what they deserve for agreeing to a money tour using their 3rd string attack

 Having almost finished his ODI career by over-promoting him to 4 a couple of years back, England now see Yardy as primarily a bowler, interesting.
As they should. He averaged 22 with the bat in List A cricket and hasn't hit a ton - ever - despite playing almost 150 games. He's not a limited overs batsman's bum. His bowling in the format has really improved though.

Hauritz, Watson, Hopes, Harris, Bollinger wouldn't be that far off I would have thought. Swap Johnson/Lee(if he's ever fully fit again) for the new kid? I guess Hilfenhaus would be there or there abouts for Harris and Bollinger would be hard to drop given their records so far.

Morgan looking composed, in top touch, and fingers crossed leading us to a victory, not the first time this highly impressive left-hander will have done it.

35 wanted from eight overs - a walk in the park for the Twenty20 generation.

Interesting, I didn't know that. I would have expected someone who generally bats at 4 or 5 for his county to have a better record than that.

Hilfenhaus is dire in one day cricket. Harris and Bollinger are much better.

The only bloke out of place is Hazelwood. But it's not like social to over-exaggerate at all, lol.

Yeah, it's a bit of a mystery I suppose considering he's a quality First Class bat, but he's rubbish in one day cricket with the bat.

Haha, no ODI side these days unless it's a world cup will ever be 100% full strength, but this is pretty close to it. Not sure where all this second XI crap is coming from.

Give me a break!!!!!!

The guy is a very ordinary fc player let alone a decent international player

This series is all about money and the fact that Oz has played a 19 year old without playing him in any previous games on tour tells you all you need to know about Oz's attitude

Yardy did make 515 runs at 39.61 with 5 fifties in List A cricket last year, which is a pretty good return. He's been fairly consistent in the last few years, bar 2007 anyway. '06 and '09 were particularly decent years. He's certainly looked a decent player in the OD innings I've seen him play on Sky in the past couple of seasons, and should be batting ahead of Bresnan in this side AFAIC.

Well you're about to get beat and not everyone takes defeat as well as you :p

Yardy last 3 seasons -

2008 (England) 10 9 0 294 54 32.66 0 3 5
2009 (England) 18 15 2 515 92* 39.61 0 5 7
2010 (England) 1 1 0 36 36 36.00 0 0 0

Not overtly impressive but has been better than his career average of 22.

We're in a World Cup year, there's no telling what the fitness of the first choice attack is going to be, I don't see the harm in giving those on the fringes some international experience for this series and seeing where they are in terms of being ready for the top level.
