Somerset's top 4 are all left-handers - could that indicate a weakness in the Aussies, maybe? Usually, one would assume not, but perhaps times are changing.
In addition, you have Kasprowicz, who has proved to be most adept at bowling to left handers in recent times, get tapped up which will happen on the odd occassion, and Gillespie is very capable of sliding one across the lefties as well and is not playing.

I wish I could see this game, it would be interesting to see how seriously Australia are taking this. They wouldn't want to appear to be too worried about a match against a domestic side, but they would want to avoid the embarrassment of losing this as well.

Another tight over from Watson, 86 off 90 needed.

I thought it was unlikely - I was under the impressions that the Aussies wouldn't have any trouble with anything so mundane as a simple leftie. Ah well - it was probably a little fruitless trying to find an inherent weakness in the Aussie game.

If someone can explain to me how Solanki is in the squad and Bell not, I'd be grateful.

Brett Lee has a slight weakness against left-handers, imo. Nothing severe though, and Kasprowicz is actually something of a leftie specialist.

With twelve overs to go after this one, you'd think Lee will be brought back. Could finish it off if he finds the right line and length.

it would be nice to see Watson coming back well in his second spell, it will give him some much needed confidence going into the NWS. I was of the opinion that he should have been selected in the Ashes squad but thats doesn' t seem likely since he will be replacing Warne at Hampshire.

I remeber that match there is no way sri lanka should have lost that match after the start they got. Whoops misread the scorecard they actually won...

Interestingly, Jayasuriya was dropped off Watson's bowling twice in that match. Watson wasn't terribly pleased.
