Vaughan should stick to Test cricket, where he can play cover-drives all day long. I would have preferred Collingwood at five; didn't make a huge difference in the end anyway.

Nice catch from Hussey, but the ground fielding and throwing has been pretty poor so far. Sweet six from Strauss over midwicket just then.

Symonds seems to be doing a great job of mixing up his pace and making scoring difficult. Experience in the format showing through.

Of course, now he bowls a full toss and goes for 4.

It was Collingwood.

Drives Symonds for four, too. Gotta love the man :)

cricinfo says collingwood hit the six
14.6 Clarke to Collingwood, SIX, pitches a bit short this time, smashed

Oh, it was too, Strauss is a lefty... I thought it was Strauss because it looked like a technically-sound shot, something I don't normally expect of Collingwood. :p As I type, Strauss improvises with a flick over fine leg, something I'd normally expect of Collingwood... this is messing up my whole conception of the game.

Weird. Both cricinfo and radio said it was Collingwood. Oh well, never mind, he's smashed a four and a six off Gilly now. :D

Why would you take the spinner off?!?

I guess Punter wasn't to know Dizzy would serve up two juicy full tosses to finish, but jesus if it ain't broke.....

No, it was Collingwood, I was just explaining why I thought it was Strauss (and that I should've known it wasn't, as Strauss is a lefty).

It WAS broke. There was a six off the last ball Clarke bowled. :p

Clarke, yeah, but not Symonds. Taking him off was stupid.

Anyway, England should be looking at 180+ here.
Agreed - no need to bring on McGrath yet - but Brumby was talking about bringing on Dizzy for Clarke.

Strauss b Gillespie 18 - still, no need to worry about wickets. Uh oh, Solanki in...
