benefit of the doubt goes to the batsman, and the kaspa decision wouldnt have been needed to be made if the lbw had been given ITFP.
I totally forgot about it. Which umpire gave it not out? It looked so plumb that my friend (an England fan) had started celebrating next to me.

Unless you're actually trying to be the English version of Shane Warne (the poster).
Wash your mouth out with soap and water. :-O I know it would take multiple injuries for him to get in. It's not a question of "getting my hopes up", I've never heard of him and wouldn't want England taking on an Australian team that much weakened.

Lee's out in hospital, MacGill to play. 2-1 England. Gillespie & Kasper not good enough. Australia is absolutely f***ed at this stage.

Once again, you turn it into something about Kaspa.

Kaspa's 20 or whatever was the equivalent of him taking 5 wickets. He is there to bowl not rescue an impossible situation.

Bells' 20 is the equivalent of Kaspa taking 1 or 2 for 100, i.e. a failure.
I thought that was called a 'Brett' under normal circumstances

Now you know how we felt in Australia a couple of years ago - well, not quite. You've still got Warne.

(Throws cricket ball on ground, throws ringing mobile phone next to it).

Job done!

Our bowling stocks are f***ed. All the second-string guys (besides Tait) are all around 28-30, which is not going to be dependable. No young talent coming through the fast/medium bowling ranks at the moment. Next in line after the CA contracted players is probably Adam Griffith of Tassie and he's declined if anything last season.

It's a very big cause for concern.

Spin bowling less so. Hauritz, Cullen, Casson, White

Amazing how a guy with 250 test wickets @ 26 is "not good enough".

Anyway, you'd think Macgill would play now, and Australia will go in with the same bowling attack as in the first two Sri Lankan tests last year, with Gillespie, Kasprowicz, Macgill and Warne. Tait a chance to play in the fourth test if neither McGrath or Lee come good.

I mean in his current form, that attack won't hold up. Gillespie has to step up as the strike bowler but I think Kasprowicz will end up being the main quick due to the aformentioned form slump of the long-nosed South Australian.

Could Ian Bell be the new Ramprakash? Scores loads of runs in county cricket, looks great scoring 20s & 30s in tests but not able to move and score big runs. He reminds me a bit of Ramps at the crease aswell looks very good technically but you just wonder about how strong he is mentally.

For my two penneth batting is about how many runs you score not how good you look scoring them. I hope Bell can get some big scores soon (Bangladesh doesn't count) or we may still be waiting for him to come good by the time the next ashes series rolls along.
Atapattu had five ducks at the start of his career, turned out to be a rather useful Test player after that. :)

Australia was a shock to the bloke, obviously - but I think he's coping quite well with it and starting to play himself in. He couldn't maintain a Test average of 297 anyway :p

If Glenn McGrath is again out, I don't want to see Kasprowicz and Gillespie in the same team.

Last 5 Tests:
Kasprowicz: 13 wickets @ 41
Gillespie: 9 wickets @ 53

If these guys were batsmen - and had similarly bad stats over five Tests - the media would be demanding sackings. It's not just the stats though, they both look so ineffective.

LOL! Bichel will never play again.

I never thought I'd say this, but I hope Lee (or even better McGrath) is fit for the 4th test, as this bloke (Clark) shouldn't even be considered. I would hope if they weren't fit and Australia wanted to play 3 seamers they would play Tait. I hope the selectors haven't taken Tait 'just for the experience', because they should have learnt their lesson from India. Injuries can happen, and you need to have the next best available. I believe Tait is the next best available, and I hope he wouldn't be leap-frogged by Clark.

Should have picked Bracken.

I would have expected Bracken to be next in line after Tait, but I guess he's not playing county cricket right now, so he's not been picked. Clark isn't a bad choice really, but I hope he doesn't have to play. If they don't want to pick Macgill and McGrath and Lee are both out, Tait should play.

I'm not that worried about Kasprowicz yet really. He bowled quite well the in the Edgbaston test I thought. He got hit around by Flintoff in the second innings, but you can't complain about his first innings efforts really. Gillespie I think will eventually come good. He looked great at The Oval in the ODI, so maybe he just needs a pitch with a bit of bounce in it.

Perhaps they've decided that a good county cricket record should take precedence over a good Pura cup one :-O

Do you want us to help and give Stuart Law back? :D
