***Official*** Australia in England (The Ashes)

Warne didn't seem so disappointed with that one though compared to the one which Hawkeye said was sliding down leg. Very bizarre.

At last we have some England batsmen treating this like a Test match not an ODI.

Simple mathematics suggests the top-order partnerships have to look to survive twenty overs a-piece to make a game of it, and Tresc-o and Stas-o seem to have figured it out.

It doesn't matter if it's 20-0 after 20 overs or 100-0 after 20 overs, this is Test cricket and being anything-0 after 20 overs is what counts.

Now we have game on, if the batsmen can only keep reminding themselves it's a Test match, not one-day-rubbish.

Because we saw it as plumb from the replay, but when it happened it was almost impossible to tell whether it hit bat or pad first

England have a long long way to go. I wouldnt be getting your hopes up this early, not yet. If they are still only one or two down at the end of the days play then its most definantly game on

Rock-on, welcome to CW mate. :)

Excellent 1st post, stick around! We have 7 sessions left so if we get 50 a session which is only two an over we'll have won this so it's basically make keeping your wicket the most important thing, scoring runs should come naturally from the style of our batsman.

He probably thought it was bat first just like the umpire.
All 3 were not out if you think that the umpire has to be sure to give out and theres no way he could be sure that was pad first at the speed that it happened.

Sorry, but the guy's a professional umpire and that was absolutely plumb.

If we're going to criticise the players for poor pieces of judgement then he must cop plenty of stick for that.

It will only be critisized if australia do not win this match. Otherwise it wont really mean anything, as it hasnt altered the result of the match

Is it just me or is Gillespie looking worse every game?
he hasn't been horrible in this innings, after that rank long hop he has been fairly consistent with his line, just the odd short delivery that was cut away to the boundary by Tres & Strauss.

Yeah but he doesn't look like taking a wicket, out of all the quicks that have played this match, i'll would say his been the worse.

This is making me laugh, it really is. It's worrying because I know a wicket is just round the corner but I'm going to enjoy while it lasts. :D
