Vaughan might have had a chance if he'd got forward, Flintoff had no chance.
You reckon? I thought Vaughan's was just as bad and I thought he had little chance either.

And I'm sorry but I just saw a replay of Bell's wicket; that one kept low too. Not as low but it didn't bounce as much as the length suggested it should have. That in addition to the slope meant it was pretty tough to play.

And where is Geraint Jones head at?!??! Prediction; he'll be the next grubber victim.

England should maybe adopt something a bit like Warne's walk across the stumps earlier to McGrath. Not as extreme as Warne but at least the grubber might hit them outside the line.

Bell's nearly went over the stumps, Vaughan's hit around where the bottom of the stump labels are, Flintoff's hit half-way up - if that.

Just come home from school being upbeat about it being 175-7 last time I saw, hoping England were making steady progress, but 25-5, I guess we'll see now what Pietersen's made of.

McGrath shows why he's the best pacer of this era once again... what an amazing spell with England right on top. Must be said also that Lee supported him very well indeed and barely put a foot wrong. He's shown one of the things he needed to work on - his abiltiy to be economical in tests when he wasn't taking wickets.

Another G. Jones special off the back foot.

Can't wait for Warne to come on. It'll be interesting to see how well Pieterson reads him. I wouldn't put it beyond Shane to have kept some of his armoury to himself. And with Pieterson's shuffle across the crease...

Kevin Pieterson, meet slider. Slider, meet KP.

It is the first time Ive seen him bat and expected more.

He missed as many as he hit and doesnt move his feet.

Please dont comment on his FC record as even Warne scores centuries in England.

England need Thorpe and someone has to make way for him.
Oh I'm sorry he dissapointed you, you expected more?

Australia's innings wasn't exactlty a great example of how to bat in a test, in fact they were p*ss. At least the England players can point at Mcgrath and consistent world class bowling. I expected more from Australia but I won't judge them on a single innings.

Yeah but Vaughan's and Bell's were both shorter than Flintoff's hence, even though they kept low, they still bounced a couple of inches higher.

Anyway, why the hell are we arguing about this? Doesn't change the fact that all three were very tough to negotiate and if they were sent down to any given three of the Aussies, I'd say the same result would have been achieved.

Yup, agree with that. As I said before, his first three overs were rubbish but after that, very very good.
