I know it's early days, but on that showing Bell is not remotely in the same class as Thorpe.

Well he's averaging 70 in first class. That's one dismissal on only his 2nd series and against Australia, give him a break.

I'm guessing that's the first time you have seen him bat?

And Jones breaks the tension with a great shot off the back-foot through cover. I really like him. :)

Good shot by Jones.

"Well that's a relief for everybody - if your English" - Mark Nicholas. Because everybody is English...

Nice airy waft by Pieterson to Dizzy's first ball.

It ain't the ODI's, mate, and you ain't on top.

And funnily enough I think that Nicholas did have a point too - the batsmen who came forward were only half forward, and that allowed them to get beaten by the lower bounce. I guess its so hard to get right forward to McGrath though...

Dizzy's first two balls have had more zip than almost every other ball he's bowled all summer.

Vaughan might have had a chance if he'd got forward, Flintoff had no chance.

Especially when it's at McGrath's pace. It's probably the best tactic to try and disturb his rhythm - move yourself all over the crease, make him change his game. Because once he gets settled - and you allow him to stay settled - you've gotta be seeing the ball darn well to get by...

NZTailender

I can't believe I ate the whole thing
36 v England now sorry, with Flintoff.
31 v New Zealand
31 v West Indies
30 v Pakistan
22 v India
22 v South Africa
18 v Sri Lanka
5 v Bangladesh
4 v Zimbabwe

1 more wicket and he'll have dismissed 200 individual batsmen.

It is the first time Ive seen him bat and expected more.

He missed as many as he hit and doesnt move his feet.

Please dont comment on his FC record as even Warne scores centuries in England.

England need Thorpe and someone has to make way for him.
