The pull shot right? Controlled it so well, could've easily hooked it to Zampa.
Nah. though that was great as well. Meant the pick up/ half on drive shot he payed wide of mid on before he top edged the one over the keeper. Was class.

Not watching, Why does it say Roy caught first ball of the match by a sub fielder?

Did someone get injured during the walk onto the field

Whatever it takes!!!
Yeah needed another 10 overs of consolidation there. But live, sword, die etc. Will be interesting to see if Buttler can construct a long innings here. It is one thing you can accuse of blokes like AB, MSD and him in comparison to Hussey and Bevan as finishers. The ability to construct a long innings, suss out exactly the type of score that can win you the game given the conditions and your bowling attack etc.

Of course, Bevan and Hussey were lucky enough to often play with a great bowling attack, not just a good one.

I mean buttler has that 100 against aus in that 5th game of our last odi tour tbf, not like he can't do it.

Yeah, I don't think they can't either, its just that it does not happen that often. Their games of block, block, smash is made for such situations, tbh. Its funny coz leaving out AB who is an absolute freak of a talent, with both MSD and Buttler, the feeling I often got was they never found their rhythm for the longer formats. But I have no doubt they can and probably will do it in this format from such situations.

Especially coz Buttler has the cushion of more batting after him with reasonable hitting power for the endgame.

Lol.. just as I was bigging up Jos too.

Silly cricket, tbh. I understand Morgan doing what he did as he had that as his gameplan. But surely, with Bairstow going well at the other end, and given how good Buttler can be in the back half, there was no need to go for a big shot at this point from Buttler.

I would have understood Bairstow getting out like this, mind.

With the caveat that this one could yet turn out to be a damp squib, I've really enjoyed. Partnerships like the Marsh-Maxwell and Curran-Rashid ones have felt like (and proved to be) game-changing swings of momentum rather than a little bit par-for-the course like they'd started to become over the past few years of ODI series in England

As much as I enjoy a Roy/ Bairstow special, first inning scores of 240-300 certainly make for more interesting games.

Interest call for Finch after MMarsh finishes this over.

That's the 5th bowler finished in theory, but he's got a lot less tap than Hazlewood or Starc today.
