Test match bowling requires a bit more than bowling a few good overs with the new ball. And anyway, the way Anderson and Broad have been bowling in the last 12 months there is no new ball vacancy anyway. Bresnan, despite all the talk about "being a different bowler post injury" has still been pretty effective when you actually look at the stats. Most of the talk seemed to be based on one match.

And he is worth at least 40 extra runs with the bat (both his runs and the batsman at the other end).

Not only that but Finn's been fairly average when he's had a go in Tests, something that all the people who jizz over how good he is when he bowls in ODIs keep forgetting.

Finn shouldn't play Tests because there's no room for him.
