What about the bowler or a fielder being on the safe pressure pad?

And how would a batsman be bowled since the pressure pad would be activated when standing at the crease...
Oh, they would just have some kind of computer system that shows two bars, one showing pressure on the pad and one showing bail-wicket contact. If it's a bowled decision there isn't a problem, they'd just have to look at one bar to watch it break. For run outs, they'd look at both. The only trouble I can think of would be if a fielder was standing on the pad during a runout which would of course happen on many occasions. A solution would be to design special bats that have a chip inside them or something. :p But I honestly wouldn't be surprised if this will happen in the next 50 years. They're already designing footballs that have chips inside them that work with goalposts and they've been successfully tested. The only real problem is the cost of implementing such technology. It won't be anytime soon, that's for sure. Give it those 50 years, though, and all sorts of technology will come in to play to make almost everything pretty much undebatable.

What was the ponting drop like?
It was a sitter. He just misjudged it running in, thought the ball was coming and at the last minute found he was short.

No way was it anything but a catch that I would back myself at 56 and 21 years after I played serious cricket to take and would feel absolutely miserable about if I dropped it even once in ten tries.

It wasn't very easy by the time he actually got to it, but if he had judged it correctly at first it probably would have been straightforward.

Great win by Australia, well batted by Ponting and Hayden. Lee was again superb, he`s made many big innings recently when we`ve needed him.

I am still happy with the effort Bangladesh put up against the Mighty Australian team.
I'm even happier of the fact that the captain and the team acknowledged and recognized their mistakes well, hopefully they would do better later.

Ponting is Ponting, as simple as that!!!!!

Great job by Australia and a fine effort by Bangladesh.

I am disappointed that the MOM award went to Gilly instead of Nafees. This Test would have been a non event if not for his 138 !!
MacGill wouldn't be too happy either. Comes on a 1-200 and takes 8 of the next 9 wickets.

Without that effort Gilly would have needed to hit 300.

Fluke wickets. Gilly deserved it more.

Good win by the aussies, they had to fight really hard for that.. but this was all possible thanx to Gilly's first innings knock..
on the brighter side of things for Bangladesh, they are becomming more challenging nation in the international cricket, from this match they will definately pick up alot of confidence..

Did Bashar have anything to say about his silly runout??

Him saying this is what pleased me even more, because it proved that NOW, there is a winning spirit in this team :)!!!!!~~~~~

Have Bangladesh had their chance now, and will Australia crush them in the 2nd Test?

or - will Bangladesh put up another good showing, and take the Aussies all the way again?

I hope I'm not tempting fate here, but I think Australia will take the next one very comfortably.

The first one is more likely, although the second one would be fun to watch where as the third option which i am putting down as:

Australia and Bangladesh fight hard, but Bangladesh takes the match away !!!!!~~~~~

Wuld just be great.
