Someone had tried to defend Australia's performance in this current test by talking of how tired they were at the end of a long season. My post was aimed at that.

Um, the opposition playing worse than you...thats the definition of playing better cricket, isn't it? No one said Bangladesh has more talent. But if Australia play lazy shots and get out, and Bangladesh play less lazy shots and don't get out, thats called playing better.

Agreed. I don't know what came over me. It was a moment of weakness. Temporary insanity some would say. I think I may have also had a bit too much to drink too. I'm also under the influence of a local anaesthetic and admittedly it's 12:39am. I haven't eaten in a good hour or so and my blood sugar is rather low. To top it off, I've been listening to Pink Floyd. Apologies to the natural order of the sport we love.

I'm from the region. I know the hospitiable culture and the humble impression we like to give. So, as you see this as Murali being more humble, I see it differently from his remarks. I just see through the mannerisms, whereas with Warne, there are none. I think that also plays a big part in how a lot of people from the sub-continent judge him(Warne) and how much that opinion differs down here.

The subcontinent likes people who are humble- atleast in public.Which is why Dravid,Inzy,Tendulkar,Kumble,Murali,etc. are so popular and despite his successes, Akhtar is at best 'mildly disliked' -even by the bulk of his Pakistani bretheren. And you see through squat- unless you know the man personally, you have no benchmark to go by save for the public face. And going by that, Warne is a jackhiney while Murali is a gentleman.

Bangladesh are going ok. At least they haven't been rolled for under 100. They should be looking for a minimum of 50 more runs from their last 5 wickets. That gives them 330 which could be bloody tough if the pitch starts playing tricks.

Honestly, I wouldn't say Bangladesh are favorites anymore. I'm predicting an Australia win because I doubt Ponting and co. will endure two consecutive shameful innings. Bangladesh should be proud nevertheless of their performance in this test. That said, hoping for some Aussie humiliation!

I suppose you think Richie Benaud and Geoff Boycott should give up their careers as pundits as well, since they said the same thing at the same time? How about, say, everyone else who said it?

In reality, Bangaldesh were a woefully poor team for almost 5 years. Since around the time Whatmore took over they have been gradually improving, and in the last 12 months they have been consistently competitive, but there's nothing at all wrong with suggesting that before that they weren't good enough to play test cricket, because they weren't.

I know you're only in here to make fun of Warne, and I'm sure everyone expected it, but at least stick to his bowling figures.
