**Official** Australia in Bangladesh

Bangers have the upper hand at present. However, on this wicket, it's hard to read who is in the ascendency at times. Day One - the pitch looks like the biggest 'belter' ever. Day Two - it looks impossible to bat on. Day Three - it settles down into an even contest between bat and ball. I think the pitch will only deteriorate from here, though. Accordingly, anything over 320 will be extremely challenging.

On the other hand, if Australia win, people would just dismiss it as 'Yea, so what?'. But if they lose.........
I don't think they will, actually. At least not those who watched the game. Let's not forget that Australia were 6 for 90 odd chasing 427, and three of the top order wickets got out to balls that stayed low. That's a pretty tough situation to be in, and to win from that situation is an amazing fightback, whether it's against Bangladesh or England. I'm sure the papers at home will say "Australia scrapes through in shocking performance" or something, but those who watched it and aren't just seeking to attack the team will note how well Gilchrist played, as well as whoever does the hard yards tomorrow to turn the game Australia's way.

That's all a big "IF", of course. If Australia lose, I don't think heads will roll or anything, but Australia will cop a lot at home.

Well Bangladesh are just slightly ahead, Australia have bowled well thus far in the second innings especially the spin twins. Once Australia get the next 5 weeks & the lead is under 350. Australia have a great chance to win this test.

I don't see Bangladesh winning this, despite their valiant effort. Either draw, or Aussie win.

Won't be drawn, that's almost certain. There are two days to play, and Bangladesh are likely to be all out by lunch tomorrow.

Isn't there a chance of rain? If rain was to wash out a day or so, I'd say a draw would be the likely result. If it stays clear, we'll definitely have a winner.

Again the usual arrogant rubbish from some Aussie fans. This is why the whole World can't wait for you lot to get beat.

Not looking good. Of course, if only half a day or something is lost, there will still be a result. As mentioned, Bangladesh might well be out early tomorrow, so the game could well be over by lunch on day 5 or a bit after, one way or the other.

How is it arrogant, exactly? It's a prediction, yeah? He's not saying "Bangladesh can't possibly win this because Australia are too good", he's saying he thinks Australia will win.

8-) If anyone else is predicting their team will win, it's confidence or optimism. When an Australian does it, it's arrogance. Most Australians on this forum have grown up with Australia winning everything in sight. We're entitled to be dismissive and contemptuous of the opposition. Seriously, though, he's just being justifiably confident.

No he said "I don't see Bangladesh winning this" and "Either draw, or Aussie win". This is not the same as simply saying he thinks Australia will win.

Actually, I left out my explanation to bait someone :D. I knew it would come about. The reasons I think so are perfectly legitmate. I think the main advantage the Bangaldeshi's had was their experience on this wicket and their know-how of Australian cricket. The Aussie bowlers are looking better, and the batsmen will have more regard for their bowlers and the implications of such a pitch. As the scorecard shows currently, Australia are in a position to bowl this out fast, or even slow, it won't matter. I see Australia batting it to a draw because of time restraints or batting to win. Sorry, I didn't think there was too much arrogance there apart from my little joke :).
