To be fair, I think some of that has to do with things other than who he supports. Constant spelling erriors, this thread, and so on. Still, I think the constant bagging of aussie should perhaps be limited to when he actually says something worth bagging.
Yeah of course...I mean, it's not like I agree with the aussie on many things at all. The bagging just seems to go overboard at times.

doesn't matter how old you are, you gain respect by the things you do, or as is the case on this site what you post. Marc always got some bull to say to me, he is so boring.
I don't care if you respect him or not. Don't disrespect him to the tune of insults. Not on CW.

On the other hand, can people stop hounding the poor fella? Seriously, there's way too many threads getting sidetracked because of these none-too-subtle digs.

Aye, that does seem to be a problem here (though I'm not watching). From the sounds of it, Ponting had set rather attacking fields and obviously didn't change them once Bangladesh started going on the attack. Ponting's made all this fuss about Bangladesh deserving their test status, and that they're not going to ease up, and then they underestimate them (again).
not really. AFter lunch, he had as defensive a field as he would have if he had Sachin and Lara in full flow against his attack.

Look, I would have said this even if Warne had taken all 10 of the Tigers wickets. His comments about Murali picking up a lot of wickets against Zim and Bangladesh are in extremely poor taste. He said it once, that was bad enough. Now he has said it again, within 6 months of his last comment to a similar effect. We get it. No real cricket lover would miss the fact that Murali has taken a lot of wickets against the weak(er) opposition. But is anyone honestly gonna tell me that wickets of the Bangladesh top order batsmen are less worthy than wickets of tailenders of the other side? I would rather take the wickets of Ashraful, Bashar etc. than the wickets of Hoggard, Giles etc. And one guy in another forum put up those stats. Warne takes a higher % of tailender wickets than Murali does. Not that it proves anything, because I don't need such selective stats to judge either of these great bowlers, but definitely all those fans who think Warne is infinitely better than Murali needs to have their heads examined (as a few guys here at CW famously say).

But the main reason why those comments were in poor taste was because not only was he disrespecting players who were trying their best for their countries, but he was also showing undoubtable signs of jealousy and (almost) hatred. Hearing that interview, one of the girls who works in my office asked me if it was because Murali has more wickets than Warne. I wasn't surprised. He wasn't talking like the man who has 670 wickets and the world record to his name. I honestly thought he would be better than this. It is not Murali's fault that SRi Lanka play Zim and Bangladesh more often. In a way, I was really really really happy to see him get tonked around yesterday. I have seen Murali bowl to Bangladesh and Zim on wickets as flat as this, and he most certainly never had less than 3 guys close in and more than 2 guys in the deep. Warne had 3 in the deep and one guy catching in his 7th over. 8-)

MacGill to take at least 4 wickets. You heard it here.
I predicted the same thing to my cousin yesterday when we were watching the match. I even predicted him a wicket or two off long hops and maybe one off a full toss. ;)

Warne struggle against Bangladeshi batsmen is a real laugh, especially after those stupid comments about Murali getting ton of wkts against Bangladesh.

Well something is off mate. Whether his arm or form, if Macgill can do well, you can bet your *** Warne can.

BTW, how can you not point out the fact that so many of his wickets have come from Bangladesh. Alright, they've played well here, it doesn't raise the stock for Murali's wickets I'm afraid. All this is, is a bit embarressing for Warne. Anyway, let's not make this a SKW V MM thread.

only because of a stupidly flat pitch. If RSA batted on this pitch they would have made alot more runs.

Pitches in RSA were better for cricket.
Pathan got 5 for 20 odd a year or two ago on a pitch even flatter this one. Trust me, even Zaheer Khan scored 75 coming in at no.11 on that track. Bangladesh played brilliantly, Aussies bowled poorly (the fact that Warne went for a lot of runs even with as defensive a field as I have ever seen against Bangladesh proves it) and most importantly, it serves Warnie right after all that whining.

I am afraid it does. He basically took the wickets of these same batters in the same conditions. I have seen his matches against Bangladesh and those pitches have all been either flat or flatter.

^ You (aussie) would make a terrible West Indian fan. You would, however, have a very high post count.
