Tbf, I think Phillips is deservedly ahead of Bruce in the queue. Bruce's best hope might lie in Mitchell losing form - but even then, given how much credit Mitchell has in the bank - and the conservative nature of the selection group - he'd probably have to wait until the 2024/25 season at the earliest for a shot.
I think his best chance is injury, and he'd probably need 2. Or some sort of franchise clash (God help my post rage if this ever happened)

I have never seen him bat & his overall FC record stinks but Caleb Jewell must be one of the most improved batsmen in the country

Only going by stats so I can’t tell you whether I think he can play but he’s been low key very good for a little while now

Jewell is a man on a mission right now. If he get's a big score after his last one or two shield seasons and recent-A form he'de be a real smokey for a test spot. Doubt he'de leapfrog renshaw unless renners falls of a cliff again and jewell keeps his form up, but should be ahead of bancroft and harris atleast. Shame harris hasn't played this series, honestly.

Who are the commentators by the way? They seem very even-handed. I know Bryce McGain is one. I think he was particularly impressed with Will O'Rourke, saying he was moving it both ways at good pace.
Great to hear - I'm a big fan of O'Rourke on potential (nice bowling action) though he's pretty raw right now. Also in a time when every other promising young bowler we have gets injured, he's (touch wood) remained fit so far.

Apparently his dad is former Onslow and Wellington pace bowler Patrick O'Rourke.

Jeez, his dad had a pretty good record, surprised he didn't get a run at some point in the post-Hadlee pre-Cairns/Doull/Nash dark years

****, what a knock this has been from Jewell. It's a shame that Hobart is so green, otherwise I think he'd be making a real claim for an Australian spot.
