Yeah, I was left scratching my head a bit as well. Doesn't make sense. Not like Pak got a big advantage by finding out in the 27th over that 42 overs are to be played instead of 50. And they were 5 down already.

I think the loss of 5 wickets at the rain break hurt Pak as far as DLS goes.
I maybe wrong but I think the way DLS sees it is that they may well have been bowled out had it been the normal 50 overs with the better bowlers getting more overs etc.
Not saying its completely fair or anything but it is how DLS interprets such scores and one reason why Virat and KLPD kept putting off going for broke when we batted against Pak.

The problem with SL cricket is that they have no clear cut superstar for the team members to gravitate towards. It’s this simple fact that is holding them back.
One would argue against this and say that a superstar would create an atmosphere of toxicity; but as we see here, they are headless chickens (adjacent.)
