After this WC, most top teams would send 2nd string sides to play JAMODIs for next 3 years. We will always play our first choice XI against them. Hence Babar would remain no.1 ranked batter in LOIs & PCT as no.1 ODI/T20I team.

I even went ahead & touted him as an opener (only in ODIs) replacing Imam.

Babar was excellent at the last WC and averages about 70 since. He'll be excellent this time too and continue to be the best in the world for the foreseeable future.

He's an excellent middle order batsman and pretty much perfect for the format regardless of position. Great keeper too.

I think his output would be significantly increased if TM put him to open. He played List A matches as an opener or 1 down. Today we had opportunity to test him in absence of Imam. Fakhar is horribly out of form. We need some one who can rotate strike & maintain healthy RR at top.
