Still a Test match, therefore it isn't pointless IMO, no matter how one-sided.Does the South Africa/Zimbabwe series in 2005 ring a bell?.
Lack of variation is his main problem, At the moment all what he does is pitch it on length and try to make it go both ways or when the ball is new he tries to bowl full and get the batsman driving, all this is fine for test cricket or on pitches which have some juice but on some of the roads that are prepared for ODI's this is a recipe for disaster.TBF to Asif the weather and humidity was very intense but he does have a real problem with the old ball. Getting some tap on a road early on can be expected but Pakistan need to box clever with him. I wouldn’t’carp them if they use Asif merely as a ten over straight merchant.
Speaking of Zaheer...do u know if his injury is serious or anything?
Source: http://content-uk.cricinfo.com/aac2007/content/current/story/297462.html"Zaheer's is just a strain," said Jayawardene. "We will have to speak to the physio and find out. It's good that he stopped immediately and did not aggravate the injury. If he is not 100% [fit] he will not play. We have to take the third match seriously as the other last two matches. It will be nice to finish it of 3-0."
Strain could apply to any muscle of the human body really, from a calf strain to a back strain or even something like a bicep or pectoral strain. The word 'strain' suggests it was a hamstring or thigh injury
In a world where 10=6.Peter Ongondo dominating the Asian batting lineup here, has 3/23 off 10 overs so far.
I'm getting that vibe as well, it would certainly help Asia out big time.Yuvraj ton on the cards. I can sense it.
Haha woops, I should really concentrate on what I am typing. In a world where 10=6.
Clearly he's working in a heximal system.In a world where 10=6.
Yuvraj ton on the cards. I can sense it.
Turns out it was a hip strain and he may miss the ODI series in Ireland. We'll see, but I'm sticking with the guess that it is an upper leg strain.
