I just feel it's best to appear weak to the All Blacks to make them complacent and then play incredibly hard and fair during the match. I think it's always a mistake to awake the beast so to speak. All Blacks over the years have had great skill, but have seemed to have complacency at times. Don't know them personally and don't follow Rugby THAT close, but it's my assumption. Another assumption of mine was that having Richie McCaw as captain was very good for them focusing and not being complacent.I actually like the cricket celebrations and think they're great. I wasn't a fan of send offs or abuse. But I like people celebrating good play without abuse. If Bravo wants to "rule the world dance" or "Champion dance" - I think that's great. If someone else does it to him, that's to be expected. He has asked for it. And I like it.
It is like NFL touch down celebrations, I think they're great. They add to the entertainment. People being abusive to the opposition is just crap.
I get what you're saying about the cultural sensitivity of the haka, but seriously, those that mock have typically lost by plenty and plenty. Racist or not, it just results in a massive loss. People shouldn't mock cultures, I agree.
Bravo - you and I both have no issue with what AFG did. But I don't want Bravo and more cricketers to stop. I want to see more salutes and dances and celebrations. I actually would like to see more team orchestrated celebrations like NFL.
And I have no issue with counter celebrations.
High fives without willy nilly eye pokes :P They're different.
