lol at the Starc criticism

Arguably the 2nd best left arm quick in history after Akram and I am a fully paid up member of the Starc Hater Club

Finally the reality of our batting lineup has been exposed here. Until the NZ series it was the bowlers and lower order batting painting a different picture of our capability.

Yeah 6 defeats in 8 tests should mean it's the end of Rohit and Kohli. But it won't be as BCCI doesn't have the guts to drop big names with big PR.

I'd say that peak MJ was stuff of horror which even peak Akram never showcased in his career, but Starc overall is a better bowler than MJ.

3-1 a fair result. End of an era for Indian cricket, hopefully.

Kohli was a mighty warrior, culturally. Exactly what India needed the past decade plus.
Will there be another great figure to lift Indian cricket culture to where it needs to go? I doubt it, tbh.

Honestly think this series win is a harbinger of Australian advantage in BGT for the foreseeable future.

They will tour India next with a lot more confidence with Ashwin gone. Bumrah IMO will not tour Australia again and he is a trumpcard to any India win in Aus.
Don't see this series having much bearing on the 2027 bgt.

India are going through a transition period now but I suspect they will be a stronger side in 18 months.

Plus hard to see smith khawaja lyon starc and haze being around then - australia will be entering their own transition period in the next 2 years

I'm afraid Bumrah is the last of the league.

India need to show a bit more faith in the likes of Sarfaraz too rather than making a bizarre concoction of non-bowling allrounders, all while not doing anything about the black hole at no. 4.
Sarfaraz also needs to show a bit less faith in the buffet and prepare himself in the best possible condition if he wants to represent his country.

So ends another 5 test summer with Starc running on fumes. Same as the last 3-4 years when all the fans know he should have been rested for at least one test, but selectors know better.

Fast forward to SCG next year when Starc is gassed playing 5th test in the Ashes...
It won’t matter because we’ll win 5-0 anyway

thats correct. Guys like Sudharshan, Ranjan Paul are worth a look in, in the XI. both average in the 50s in Ranji.

Sarfaraz, Devdutt and Easwaran- why did they tour if their technique is not up to seaming decks?
Weird that they had these batsmen on tour but instead played Washington Sundar essentially as a specialist bat at 8, with Pant and Jadeja a spot too high each. That selection only makes sense if Jadeja and Wash are both considered better specialist batsmen than all of those reserves, given both of their bowling together was never going to be of value
