Well that rather depends on who's doing the batting. And the bowling, come to that. I popped out for a brief moment with three wickets down and came back to this. We really are the biggest pile of steaming ****e, aren't we.
Bumrah's been irrepressible though. Can't really hold it against Pope and Bairstow. Doubt anyone other than Root could've kept those out, as he's had occasion to prove in the last two overs.

Oh but I can ...... :)

Nah, we've been comprehensively outplayed since the end of India's first innings, and fair do's to them.

Sadly in the office today and having to follow this sporadically on Cricinfo - does the pitch seem to be playing noticeably worse than yesterday, or is the capitulation as bad as it reads? Sounds like Bumrah is having one of those near-unplayable days.

I'm not gonna give the guys a kicking for getting out on Day 5 in a big chase...the real waste was on Friday evening, we could have been at the finish line now if we'd scored what we should have
This is true actually, although the degree of collapse is pretty dire. Also the obscene number of dropped catches from guys who allegedly do this for a living.

Bumrah's mostly taken the pitch out of the equation. Hameed got unreasonably bogged down and Malan's runout was criminal. Not much else wrong Eng have done.

Insane passage of play. Missed almost all of it but this pitch doesn't warrant such a collapse. Hope Root and Woakes put up a fight with some glorious drives.
