**Official** 4th Test at Melbourne, 26-30 Dec 2024

India- Prasidh comes in for Deep. Rohit sharma to be dropped, Devdutt or Easwaran make their Australia debut.
Devdutt played the 1st test, he was game but didn't look like he belonged.

If Sharma goes its got to be Gill who comes in tbh.

Deep out is fine, he is ok but he doesn't take wickets unfortunately.

Well Stuart Clark was aghast by the suggestions to drop him and said "You can't just drop a bloke after four tests"

I'd say Clark was apoplectic but according to Langer 99% of Australians won't know what I mean.
Stuart Clark has been pulled into line by CA following his adventures earlier this summer

I'm on your side. Aren't you upset about the umpiring on top of half your team being manchild garbage?
Snico showed there was no spike in jaiswal dismissal so i am fair to be upset but any way we we carry garbage like rohit and kohli and make Dumbo like gambhir coach we deserve to lose. Congratulations on your team victory hope we make comeback in sydney weather permitting

I think Pat Cummins is probably the best captain since Ponting

Winning a world cup in India, on the way to probably winning another WTC, dominated England in the Ashes, now in all likelihood winning back the BGT. Only t20 world cup missing but the bloke's done it all and most importantly, leading from the front.

Such an inspirational leader. My favorite Australian player of all time.

it's so funny during tea watching Ponting and Fleming conclude that yes MMarsh probably should be dropped.......but it's because of his lack of bowling.
It's the smaller problem than him being a tailender with the bat but it's not wrong. Him being toothless just increases the load on the other pacers immensely and you can see Starc physically struggling now kinda because of it.

No rounders like him just destroy teams in the name of fake balance.

Based on the standards set from previous Australian and Indian teams. These are two sub standard sides, held up by 2 ATGs. Cummins and Bumrah.

Pat Cummins is the best modern day Australian Cricket Captain.

What a rollercoaster. Great test match.

Really feel for Bumrah. If Rohit has any shame he’ll retire immediately.

Whatever it takes!!!
Thoroughly well deserved win for Australia. They managed to stage really good comebacks when the game was drifting away from their grasps, first on day 4 with Labu-Cummins and then Lyon-Boland and then on Day 5 with the inspired Travis Head longhop.

Its quite telling that they have made far more runs than us this series and we have not used our available part time option like Jaiswal and yet they went to that well inspite of having a better and more rounded attack for the conditions. It shows how important tactical captaincy on the field is and that is the biggest drawback with Rohit. I am almost sure we would be leading or winning this series with just about any other captain. I hope GG and selectors find the guts to drop all of Rohit, Virat and Pant next test. Surely, Gill, Sarfraz and Jurel will be an upgrade at this point.

I feel bad for Jaiswal esp. as I feel its a decision most umpires will definitely give not out but such is the luck when you are not playing well. I think it was most likely out for sure, but its also the type of decision that almost never gets overturned. We have had some rough umpire's call go against us this series but as I said, they just always seem to happen when you are not playing well. Plus they are just umpire's call and you cant really argue there was a bad decision as such, but yeah, maybe if we played better, we could have had better luck.

I dunno if this side will find it in them to get themselves up for SCG esp. if we keep playing Rohit and Virat. I hope they can make the brave decisions. Otherwise, its a waste of time following this time at this point. As most of us Indian fans said before the series started, its very much the 2011 vibes and we somehow being in with a shot to keep the trophy is just amazing.

I guess I was wrong about the fight in the team though. Its clear they do have that moxie to fight but they just dont have good strategy or tactics around them to show that. I suppose I should soften my stance about the lack of fighting spirit in the team, they do try hard when they are down, they are just let down by really bad captaincy and players not in form or past it.

Aha just made a post about this in the SA PAK thread. Rabada has just saved SA with his batting (in his worst test home bowling). Cummins has also saved tests with his batting.

Bumrah needs to prove he is the proper alpha here.
Beta Bumrah. Learn to bat, ****

I'd like to see Ponting win some tests with MMarsh in his team

Agree with all apart from comparison to Ponting, for he was a very ordinary captain
