**Official** 4th Test at Melbourne, 26-30 Dec 2024

King Kane

International Regular
That was plumb, a Shane Watson like review from Siraj but he isn't picked for his batting.

Pant has a lot to answer for, threw his wicket away and triggered a collapse in the last session.

He needs to play another matchwinning innings in the last test In Sydney to make up for it.

Seriously, insanely clutch performance when things were looking dire throughout the middle sessions on all of the last three days. What heroics from all our bowlers on Days 4 & 5.

Pant has enough runs in the bank having won multiple games for his country, but he would feel terrible rn about starting the rot
he played his natural. I'm sure his IPL coach, Ricky Ponting, will let him know that he did the right thing

What are the odds on Betway Plus for Marsh getting selected?
no. hes going to get dropped. mcsweeney got dropped mid series too. Marsh stats so poor he does not warrant selection.

Starc rested also, Jhye comes in . those are the two changes for sydney.

I've made very small money on Australia winning that test, but even I am annoyed by how India lost that.

Credit to Aus for never easing up, but just so much braindead cricket from India, Kohli, Pant and Jaiswal all gave away their wickets, while Sundar made no attempt to protect the rabbits.

it's so funny during tea watching Ponting and Fleming conclude that yes MMarsh probably should be dropped.......but it's because of his lack of bowling.
Well Stuart Clark was aghast by the suggestions to drop him and said "You can't just drop a bloke after four tests"

I'd say Clark was apoplectic but according to Langer 99% of Australians won't know what I mean.

Agressive batting in Test cricket will always have its place....but there is a time and place for it. Both times Pant chose the wrong shots, especially in India's first innings......horrific shot selection.

He needs to be better. There's nothing wrong with taking time out of the game.

You wonder if they've been watching the same series from that sentiment, where we've effectively been playing with one fewer batsmen than normal because of him.
