Yeah I definitely didn't agree with picking so many bowlers/allrounders. Washy and Reddy look much better batsmen than their numbers but I still would have seen Gill a higher chance to make a significant contribution with the bat, and one or both of them (or Jadeja, or all three) were going to end up under bowled.

They should have just decided between the second spinner and the fourth quick.

I thought the six over Bumrah spell here was justified though.

The length of spells is a fair point but otherwise I think they've bowled Bumrah sensibly. At the start of the day then as much as possible for the first 40 overs. I think he'd have had an extended spell if Marnus didn't brain fart his wicket away. The decision to put Bumrah back on after that was the smart move. Maybe they've over bowled him this morning.

I do think Edwards might actually be a better cricketer than Webster now, but Webster is still the better bat and I think the batting line up needs more support from that spot at the moment than the bowling lineup.

Edwards has averaged low 20s with the ball and over 30 with the bat in each of the last 2 Shield seasons
