**Official** 4th Test at Melbourne, 26-30 Dec 2024

Whatever it takes!!!
Six bowlers is dumb. Unless you think Sundar is a better batsman than Rohit now, which is stretch, it shouldn't happen.
I honestly would back Sundar and Jadeja and NKR to score more runs than Rohit, yes.

For that matter, over Virat too. Out of the 3 guys entire Indian cricket fandom has turned on, the only one I feel will still make runs this series is Gill.

Virat and Gill seem to have specific issues. Rohit just looks done tbh. Its hard to put it into words but its the feeling I get when I see them bat.

Sundar is easily a better bat than Rohit these days, and it's not even close.
I think Jurel is a better bat than either at the moment, and also a much better keeper than Pant. If anyone should come in for Rohit it should be him, and he should be keeping. Not someone who might provide five second innings overs as the world's greatest sixth bowler.

Yeah fair points but we all know Rohit is playing so it doesn't really matter what we think.

I'm calling it. Sam Konstas will be added to the 4th Test squad

The top order has the biggest problems and current spare bats Inglis and Webster bat 6 in Shield so are really only cover for out of form Marsh. So Konstas has to come in if Selectors are doing their job

I think India might go unchanged.

If Jadeja can hold up an end, then India's attack is probably okay. If he can't then it's not good enough and need either Sundar or Rana in there in place of Reddy.

Rana is better than Prasidh Krishna and there are no other seamers in the squad.

Kohli’s already made runs this series, assuming he’s one of the guys you’re speaking of.

NWS the very real issues with the batting, Marsh's continued non-bowling selection is probably driving me the most mental tbh. It's just flat out actively messing with the entire side and basically inviting more injury/ burnout for the front line bowlers. It's got to the point now where it's genuinely bizarre.
Before this series I saw a graphic pointing out that over some set period (12 months? Calendar year? Something like that) Marsh was the only Aussie bat averaging over 40. It made him hard to drop in a way even if he wasn't bowling.

But he looks so shot and his long term career is so cursed and terrible that it really makes no sense to show him so much faith deep into the series. He had a good run of form and it's clearly over now. It's not like he has an impressive body of work over a long period to back him up when he's half fit and in horrible nick.

I have basically no confidence in Webster either which is part of the problem, but yeah he's definitely a better pick than Marsh at the moment.

Rohit's a tough one. He's been one of our better batsman in recent times until this year, much better than Kohli and Gill. But he's looked easily the worst in this series, just totally out of sorts and doesn't even look like he wants to be there.

Yeah I can see the case for backing him or dumping him, especially given his age.

But as much as I've always talked up Washy's specialist batting potential, it really is just potential, especially down the order. Like if you're picking a middle order batsman then Jurel and Sarfaraz should still be ahead, right? And if he's sixth bowler it shouldn't add that much. I think Jurel's keeping adds more than a sixth bowler and he didn't even keep!

It'd be way different if they wanted to bat him in the top three or he was gonna be at least the fifth bowler. But that's not so at the moment.

Just realised India can retain the BGT if they win at MCG 😞

Selectors better change someone in this top 6 before it's too late
