Any chance you think Abbott gets picked batting eight coming in for Starc if he's not fit? I wouldn't do it but the thinking could be that it props up the batting while bringing in someone who would bowl dry, even if not as much of a wicket taking threat? Negative thinking but they did a similar thing at Old Trafford.
If they don't risk Starc (which is probably the right thing to do if he's injured), they're kinda have to pick Abbott. Coz picking Richardson seems nearly as risky as picking Starc

re Jaiswal deflection was clear. he smashed it(the glove) but somehow snicko didnt pick it up, maybe snicko only works for bat?

I think it actually hit the bat as well lol.

Snicko just detects noise and there was none on the stump mic either. I think it kind of glided along the face of the bat and then flicked the thumb and it just didn't really make the clicky sound you usually hear, so the Snicko looked different.

And when McGrath didn't play India they drew the series against Australia. WI had two ATG batsmen during this era. India had their best batting line-up ever during this era. England were weak, yes, but South Africa were very strong. Also, the vast majority of McGrath's wickets were top order wickets.

Your comment was uninformed and you need to go back and do 33 hail Mary's for insulting St McGrath with your ignorance of his greatness.
The ironic thing about his comment was that by mid 90s Ambrose had gained a reputation for at least some writers for only showing up on favourable pitches, something he did quite prominently in 1995 and 96/97.

Mitch marsh thoughts? Specialist fielder. brilliant catch of the dangerous Pant contributed to the win - tumbling diving catch difficulty 10/10(he bobbled it before taking it)

Guys, I was just looking up Kohli's dismissals vs pace bowlers in the last few years and err... something seems to stand out a bit

Gee, I wonder what plans bowlers set to him. What could it be 🤔🤔🤔
Haha we've all noticed it but the absolute extent of that is absurd. It's not just that it's caught dismissals either - almost all of those are keepers or slips.

yep okay i rechecked the stats - fast bowlers only. thanks.

1. Mcgrath
2. Bumrah
3. Cummins
4. Hadlee
5. Ambrose

the home bowlers top 2- obviously Mcgrath and Cummins now. These two are elite home bowlers, the rest of home bowlers are significantly behind IMO. I think 3rd best is Lillee and then Mcdermott/Hazlewood.

The visiting bowlers are Bumrah, Hadlee and Ambrose the top 3.

This seems fair.

Australia will run into problems in Tests once Cummins retires in a few years...generational talents, well they take a long time to emerge.

India will run into major strife once Bumrah retires in 4-5 years also.
Alan Davidson deserves to be mentioned at least - 17 matches 84 @ 21.07 8 5’fers

Other Aussie pacers in those matches - 91 @ 30.69

Foreign pacers in those matches - 147 @ 30.18

Also was up very high, a fair distance from the stump mics

no hotspot due to cost reasons. if there was, itll show a big mark either on bat or glove. he smashed it, several points of deflection observed(by anyone) on the video monitor, stood in front of umpires & acted in disbelief, 10/10 should win an oscar for acting - Jais. hehe.

If Starc is injured or just can't make the turnaround I'd consider Jhye and Abbott for he and Marsh. Jhye's batting is pretty good and having Abbott, Cummins and Jhye at 7,8,9 should give you some runs. I'd be ok with that and be more likely to hold my breath over Jhye getting through uninjured.

huge deflection here after it passes/touched bat or glove. as you can see.

Arm nowhere near the ball.
