**Official** 4th Test at Melbourne, 26-30 Dec 2024

halba

International Debutant
Really think Khawaja is done. That’s not done an awful lot and he’s missed it by miles
hes done. a loss here or SCG, his place is surely under pressure after the SL tour(he will play that as he is a specialist spin player)

Ashes, theyll need to blood new openers from Shield. Jury still out on Konstas imho. a few more failures and he too, will be under pressure just like McSweeney. Konstas only 42FC average, international bowlers are much tougher IMHO, hell be barely 30-35 ave in tests. Prodigy is atleast 45 FC ave like the likes of Clarke, Ponting(he was 55), Langer, Hayden etc who all averaged 50+ in FC and did the same at international level.

Oh god, they’re having one of those appalling commentary “it’s the momentum” chats. The actual chat is “it’s 2/160 odd, the risk to Aus was losing 4 or 5 wickets that session, and the ball is getting older.”
They watch too much Yank tv sport.

He averaged 48 in the few Shield games he played.

I would half agree in the sense that I don't think he looked at his best while doing so, but it isn't accurate at all to imply he failed there entirely
Didn't mean to imply that at all, really just meant what I said. You could tell he wasn't the same player. Don't get me wrong if I was a selector I'd still have picked him, but only out of necessity.

I would still say "average at best" is a bit of an overstatement, but yeah I'm with you that he didn't look at the level he was a couple of years ago

The Wheel is Forever
This long haired ****wit Bharat or whatever his name is on seven (sadly frequently seen on the abc as well) seems to think Nitish Reddy’s parents are the only ones in history who sacrificed anything to give their kid a sporting career. Interesting take tstl.
I sure as hell wouldn’t. Figure it the **** out yourself if you want to play sports.
