Jadeja will be in there for a bit longer. So it's stacked with part timers and all rounders. The only strike bowler is Bumrah and Shami if he can return to fitness.Needs another bowling option in the top 7.

Yep. Looks like they're now firmly established in the future top 6 based on the performance today. They're undroppableGoing off all the hype on here people think Reddy, Jadeja and Sundar can all bat in the top 6. Doesn't say much about future Indian middle order bats
Curious half the players were wearing jumpers on the ground for the past two days thenIt is extremely hot conditions

No they don’tand they have to not just close out this game but win in Sydney too.
To be fair comms said Konstas was wearing his long sleeve shirt and long sleeve jumper today just so he could wear all the new kit he was given during this test 22°C and he was rugged up like it was winterCurious half the players were wearing jumpers on the ground for the past two days then
Do you never check anything before posting?Aus one strike bowler isn't fit - Starc and Cummins their leader is tired. It is extremely hot conditions. don't know why Starc was passed as Match fit
Mitch Marsh isn't a test standard all rounder, yet somehow he's gotten nearly 50 tests (!!). They're effectively a 10 man side plus a fielder.
Lyon looks like his career is finished, this is the 4th test In a row he's ineffective, his post injury statistics are no good.
This explains the current state of Aus bowling.
edited. been on the road limited internet access. not from VIC, assumed it was hot.Do you never check anything before posting?
It actually was pretty warm. I think both days like 24-25 max, but it felt a bit hotter, especially yesterdayDo you never check anything before posting?
But a lot of players were wearing jumpers yesterday and today so couldn't be that warmIt actually was pretty warm. I think both days like 24-25 max, but it felt a bit hotter, especially yesterday
Just looked very tired, and seemed to have a back issue before tea. Looked better after tea, and bowled a pretty decent spell, but not with any real pace or venom.@Spark what is the matter with Starc? Seems fine and has been bowling but everyone here posting as if he is injured?
If last game is anything to go by, Cummins is definitely declaring somewhere midway after Tea. Give his bowlers about 10-12 overs to play with before end of day's play.Honestly, an entertaining day of cricket, if only for the Sunny rant on the radio. Definitely happy for Reddy, everyone remembers their first after all.
Australian bowling was fine. This is a dead pitch without much in it, probably headed for yet another MCG draw. I'm not sure there's enough time left in the game for a win, Australia's best bet might just be to bat as long as they can and try and put more overs into Bumrah before Sydney.
If Starc is sore and the pitch isn't cracking up, I don't think Cummins will push for the win. Brisbane has bowler friendly conditions where that was possible. But I think he should be thinking about preserving fitness for the Sydney test.If last game is anything to go by, Cummins is definitely declaring somewhere midway after Tea. From India's POV, it's important to get Konstas out early preventing them from getting off to a flyer given that the likes of Khawaja, Labuschagne and even Smith early in his innings won't be as aggressive and are going to take time to build their innings
Higher humidity. the bowlers will feel it. Starc is well down on pace and stats show he is essentially a passenger in the 4th and 5th tests of a 5 match series. With jhye fully fit, dont know why Starc was passed as fit.It actually was pretty warm. I think both days like 24-25 max, but it felt a bit hotter, especially yesterday
Aus selectors have a way of persisting with the Marshes don't they? His elder brother was hardly a welcome selection half the time.On Marsh: I don't know what the selectors were thinking when they picked him despite him losing 10kph in the last few years. He's really passed his peak and his peak was not particularly good.
Gun all rounder against the poms though. 3 hundreds in 10 tests at an average of 47, 18 wickets at 29.
Still, we would be better off with a genuine batsman and Labuschagne's pies than Marsh's no runs and 7 overs, no wickets for 28.
