Dunno man, not sure you can have both Jadeja and Reddy in the side, yeah they can bat but their bowling is a bit meh.

Just very unbalanced atm.
Drop Rohit Sharma and bring back Shami. At least Shami will bat better than Rohit and contribute with the ball as well.

MCG and SCG don't bounce as much. I expect Jadeja to bowl and even contain a lot better there. (ftr he averages mid 20s there last two tours)

Based on technique and temperament for test batting, Jadeja has looked the 2nd best batter in the side. That alone makes him undroppable. Reddy is not as solid. He's usually come in late and counter attacked against the old ball, whule Jadeja has played like a proper batsman and left the ball better than almost everyone. So between the two, Reddy has to make way for 4th seamer or Sundar/Ashwin.

Last time this was India's attack at MCG-

Jadeja
Ashwin
Bumrah
Siraj
Saini

Jadeja took 3 wickets. Ashwin 5 wickets. Jadeja also scored a crucial 60 odd in a big partnership with Rahane.

Whatever it takes!!!
Why is Gill undroppable? He's played 30 tests and averages mid-30s. He'd have to go before either Kohli or Sharma if you factor in credit in the bank for all three.
He has looked more likely to score this series than Rohit, at least, though. And one thing that did impress me about Gill in the last year has been his willingness to change his gameplan based on the situation and at least try to correct his flaws. Did it well against England at home with their spinners and think he might still do well here.

In general, if I had to choose who looks most likely to make runs in this series among these 3, I will go - Gill, Virat and Rohit. Virat really only has the one weakness but the ****er has had it for 5 years and still thinks cover driving is a good option before he has 30 runs to his name.

The increasing fragility of Haze makes Marsh's spot even more dicey. The pressure on the remaining 3 bowlers is increased because you can't trust Marsh to take up the extra overs needed. You can only really carry a dubiously fit Marsh if the main 4 are all solid fitness wise.

A thing that gets less notice is the fact that sometimes with all these rain delays it is possible that you overbowl certain bowlers. We almost did it to Bumrah a few times and I am not sure if Australia have to be careful about it with Starc at least. Cummins looks fit enough to bowl a few 6 over spells.

Situation looking pretty good for India

If they come out of this with a draw, you'll have to consider this as a win given the situation they were in.

If that happens, I see this series ending in a 2-2 draw.

Selection for the next two tests' gonna be crucial tho

I wish Rohit the so called selfless captain could sit himself out next match as he is an absolute deadweight atm and looks completely shot and has no chance of scoring any runs tbh. With Kohli and Gill there is at least hope. There is none with Rohit.

Regarding Shubman Gill, here are his stats outside Asia since Gabba 2020/21-

In 16 inns outside Asia in last 4 years, his top score is 36 runs. He is averaging a mere 17!! Yes that's right SEVENTEEN

Here is an analysis of India's First Innings Woes over the last year (before the 3rd Test at Gabba).. Unfortunately, Gabba continue to reaffirm the analysis.
