They will make just 1-2 changes. Akash in for Rana and maybe change their spinner. But ideally they should drop Reddy and play Jadeja and one off-spinner. India need a much better 5th bowler than Reddy as he is nothing more than a part-timer. Can't keep playing him as just a batter at No.7/No.8.

As I said before last match, you can't go in with Bumrah or bust strategy again. Your 3rd, 4th and 5th bowlers need to be capable of taking several wickets.

Gavaskar: "I think the feet aren't moving as they should. He needs to do a little bit of exercise before coming to the crease and try to get some circulation going in the legs. Do some jogging before you take the first ball"

I can imagine Rohit's reaction to that. Starts with a C and ends with an A after five seconds
When Sunny is trying to hint at you to do some exercise, you know you are a poor physical specimen.

That's like when I put on a lot of weight a few years ago, and my Indian grandma who usually fed me sweets any chance she got, hinted that I should go on a diet.

Think it's better to have Ash/Jadeja instead of Reddy/one spinner.

All this talk about how bad India bowling is but somehow only Head has done well in the Aussie batting order.

1. Khawaja - 34 runs @ 11.33
2. McSweeney - 59 runs @ 19.66
3. Labuschagne - 69 runs @ 23.00
4. Smith - 19 runs @ 6.33
5. Head - 240 runs @ 80.00
6. Marsh - 62 Runs @ 20.66
7. Carey - 72 runs @ 24.00

Just play both Jadeja and Ashwin you imbeciles. Its foolish the dogmatic attitude they have towards team composition. Cant just keep picking pacers just because the conditions are pace friendly. It's no use if the pacers are garbage tier. The nincompoops in charge of selection are acting like we have the 80s windies quartet in the squad so the spinners cant get a game, when in reality it's har-very-**** rana and nitish reddy-to-bowl-another-half-tracker.
Jadeja should be one of the first names on the team sheet. It's insane how often India have been leaving him out overseas. Might be helping preserve his stats but at the expense of team results.

As you say, his bowling is as good as the back up seamers even in non spin-friendly conditions. His batting is as good or better than the batsmen who's spots he would be taking as well. And then there's his fielding . . . ridiculous he's sitting on the bench

Haha, It's only Yahoo Sports but they've suggested Lyon could be dropped to play 4 pacers at the Gabba if Hazlewood is fit.

I guess that's one way to keep Boland (who averages 20.42) and they do have Head, Labuschagne and McSweeney to bowl some spin...

Maybe Smith should try opening again, I think his average was better there!!

It does make me wonder what on earth the batting line up looks like in 12 months time for the Ashes.....

This isn't even that crazy. I doubt it will be that different though tbh. Smith and Marnus will still be there. Good chance Marsh and Carey are too. The only one with a > 50% chance of being gone is Khawaja

Yeah, surely Carey is still there. Could see Marnus re-finding some form.......but Smith will be arse for Carse if he's still smelling the place out.

I think they want Inglis in the Sri Lanka squad for his batting, so very easily might decide that Carey's keeping isn't worth him keeping the spot. Though if they look likely to make the WTC final, they will probably keep the team together for that and then make changes for the WI tour. Green, Konstas & Inglis in, and shuffle things around depending on who is still good enough to stick around through the Ashes.

It may end up depending on how Carey goes with the bat in the next 3 tests.

Carey won a Test on his own bat just 3 games ago. Has been in great form in domestic and ODIs when he got the chance as well. He has to mess up pretty bad for the rest of this series to get leap frogged by inglis
