Exactly the sort of thing Australia has been crap at most of the time for... well years really. Just playing out a session carefully, getting through some slow periods without panicking etc. Very good batting, albeit with a chance or two.Great session for Aus.
In fairness if you were going to pick a batting pair most likely to do it, it would be these two.Exactly the sort of thing Australia has been crap at most of the time for... well years really. The bowling was quite good, all things considered. Fielding not great. Not sure what you expect given the conditions/quality of batsman. What was up with England that session? Felt like they were just going through the motions for long stretches. Really poor.
Main missed chance was Bell dropping Smith. It wasn't easy but it's still one you want to take.Yuckity ****. To people who were watching, how tough were the missed chances in that session? Feels like te sort of thing we can't afford to do on this pitch.
I reckon not. These two will speed up a bit as the bowling gets tired, and maybe take advantage in the last 10 overs with the old ball. But I don't think it will be carnage. 320 for 2 or 3 would be absolutely fine for Aus at close of play. Keep England in the field for best part of two days, then unleash the quicks for 3 or 4 wickets in the last hour on Day 2.Last session will be carnage with a lot of runs and possibly a few wickets
Ya 130 runs in a session is what I call carnage...I reckon it can be 140 tooI reckon not. Well 2 years ago they would have bowled 15 each by now and been knackered. Cook has got better in the management of his bowlers.Glad we have rotated bowlers and let Moeen get through a few good spells, Broad/Jimmy have plenty left in tank.
