Head plays for Hyderabad in IPL. Shouldn't mess with Siraj tbh.
I think given Head's record against India, Siraj probably shouldn't mess with him.

Mind you, Brisbane next, and iirc Head hasn't made a run in like his last three or four test innings there after he blazed a ton vs SA a couple of years back on that crazy pitch up there.

Head can smack around Siraj's bowling in Brisbane but Siraj can lock up Head in Hyderabad.

Seems churlish to say but I really don't think Kohli's hundred should count for much tbh.
Give him another test at the gabba at least. If he fails in both innings there, consider dropping him

If Rohit fails in both innings at the gabba, which he will, I never want to see his ugly face again.

Labuschagne should have been dropped before this test, and he would have been under any pre-Cummins selection committee. The fact he played well with a 60 odd just means he's earned himself another 2 Tests without fans calling for his head. No different to Kohli after his hundred in Perth.
That's fine but your opening argument was Labuschagne should be dropped because the one score against new Zealand 90, wasn't enough to make up for his bad run. Well the same argument would apply for kohil his 100 isn't enough to make up for his bad form, which is much longer 5 years! Not just 12 months like Labuschagne. Surely you can see how inconsistent you been here?.

Now Labuschagne 64 is enough for the rest of series plus most likely Sri Lanka as Harris is completely useless at International level. By the way I don't think Kohli should be dropped in Australia but any other player would have by now.

Whatever it takes!!!
I think if you are screaming and looking directly at the batsman, you're more likely to get a response than if you are just running past to celebrate with teammates though.
Oh I agree. But I also think it happens so much in today's game I am surprised any batsman takes the bait anymore. Most batsmen dont even respond when the bowlers scream at their faces. I tend to see it as far more understandable if something is said by the bowler and the batsman responds.

Anyways, Siraj is no saint here but I do think Head was far more of an instigator here than I first thought. Which was the point of my original post in the first place. I was just plainly surprised Head said something first coz Siraj does have a bit of Sreesanth about him when it comes to carrying on at batsmen.

Thanks for reminding me about Watson dismissing Gayle, was the worst celebration I've ever seen.
I actually think send offs are usually fine to based, but yeah that one was still cringe.

I agree with @OverratedSanity that the standard thinking about this seems totally off. Apparently if you're all over someone and get them for a low score it's more acceptable, but to me that just makes you seem like more of a gloating dick. And apparently you can't send someone off if they've smacked you around first, but to me I think of it as more of an expression of relief - "yeah finally! I got you in the end! Now **** off back to the pavilion"

I think it's all basically fine and not worth so much discussion on CW though. Leave this crap to the tabloids who are struggling for stories because the game finished two days early.

I think it almost always makes you look dumb regardless of who’s on top (unless there’s some sort of build up before). Obviously it also depends on how you do it (was it just a stare, a quiet mutter under your breath, full on watson cringe etc)

It feels worse when you’re getting rekt because you’re out there celebrating like a pork chop while the game is lost

Happens so much in club cricket too, it’s always embarrassing to see

This one wasn’t that bad given the footage shows he didn’t wave him off until head said something, but still pretty cringe

Yeah mate.. you can't admit the obvious that even Head has walked back on but I am jingoistic.. sure.. guess mirrors are rare where you live

Just pathetic, even for one with a low bar like you.
I never seen a poster so full of the my country right or wrong bullshit as you. Instead of congratulating him for a fine innings you even posted **** off Head in the 1st test thread when Bumrah got him. So pathetic. You're all projection, patriotism and blame shifting. Save your comments about low bars and standards. You can't straddle them or have any.

Hazlewood apparently bowled a couple of spells on Adelaide Oval today. Says he'll know in 24 hours if he's right to play at the Gabba

.
Remember when someone wanted Starc to be dropped for the Pink ball test in the 1st test thread ?
Thank goodness that didn't happen for Australia
Was always an insane idea. He's like 20% better than all other bowlers in the pink ball tests he's played compared to par with other bowlers in red ball fixtures.
Greatest pink ball bowler of all time.
Nice little exchange but why didn't you invite me? I did suggest that but it's not right to assume I wouldn't have eventually picked him. After all when Haze dropped out then of course I'm picking Starc. Nonetheless it was a risky call but for an arguable point. Results and averages do suggest India have the measure of the big 3 so I suggested a change. It couldn't be Cummins and Haze bowled well at Perth. That left Starc. In the end fate took a hand and Haze missed out, Boland was picked and Australia won. I think that is some vindication of my point even though I picked the wrong bowler to be spelled.

Of course I like all of the big 3 and wouldn't suggest any be dropped in any other circumstances. I just think we have to change it up against India. In any case the workload of the test series means the selectors will perhaps have to make that unenviable call at some point too.

Yeah I mean who ever posts like that in a tour thread? Jeez, you are what Burgey thinks I am.
Only you felt the need to so comment. And there's the projection and the passive aggression. Amazing.

It's actually not that unusual. You see it with people with extreme and/or distorted perspectives. In their mind, anyone with a different take, even if it's objective fact, must be "biased" and "spreading lies" etc
