I'm hoping I'm still having a bad dream this morning, because I woke up to see a report that Matt Bowen has been selected to replace a forward for the 3rd origin game. So much for the clean sweep. :(

Haha i would have thought it might take Walsh more then 5 games to become overated, but i guess his already been hit with the curse of the next Johns. First 20 games, any half decent performance this guy is going to be the next big thing. Next 20 games people will expect him to win you games with every touch. After that people will give up and figure out that his just going to be good first grader.

He might play Orgin, but i'll be very suprised if his anything special at that level.

The funniest thing about it didn't take long for Mullen to be out done as the next big thing. Similar to the whole thing at the Roosters and next Fittler. First Finch, then Firman, then Soward, then Lewis, then Anasta, then Abbusson(sp) and now Pearse. Pearse looks the best of them, but like a lot of good young halves not sure if he can last the distance.

He's got a fair point, just look at Tim Smith. He was a prodigy in his first season, better than Walsh has been so far, could you see him in an origin jumper? Not so likely, even without all the competition for the QLD #7.

I agree with Smith about Lewis. I think he is better than Pearce, actually - very different players though so it's hard to compare.

Walsh is a good player - has a lot more to his game than Tim Smith ever has IMO. Origin calls are indeed premature at best though. He could get there, but he'll need to improve a lot.

I wouldn't have minded seeing Anasta at lock and Lewis-Pearce in the halves, to be honest. It annoys me seeing so much halves talent from us at other clubs, though Pearce will be a star.

Yeah, me too. I think it would have happened if Lewis didn't get injured as well - Anasta's good form at five-eighth and Lewis's poor showings in PL when he returned from his injury made it hard for Anderson to make that change. I would have done it anyway, mind.

Exciting game between the Dragons and Manly, but geez Matt Orford's decision making left a lot to be desired IMO. If he had gone right in the last minute they probably would have scored, well they had a much better chance then he would have had when he tried to step inside. And in all likelyhood they could of scored had he not passed to Watmough (sic?) earlier in the set.
Reckon that's why they don't pick him for Origin, tbh.

They were in with a shot if Pearce stayed on the field IMO. But with Pearce gone we've got a Winger and a Back-Rower in the halves, and now the rest of our halves are at other clubs.

Wtf happened to Josh Hannay? How come he's just had to sign for a club in our third division? He surely can't be that bad. Played Origin last year.

He just wants to play any football, i don't think he cares anymore about the standard.
