An 80th minute try from Mitchell Pearce wins the game for the Roosters, 24-20. Really happy with the win as it gets us off the bottom of the ladder and keeps us in with a chance of making the eight. I think its the Roosters first consecutive wins in almost 2 years!

Big mouth Richie Williams has left St George for Penrith and Ashton Sims is target for Brisbane. Any idea on Brad Thorn on what club he will be at next year? I would imagine a Super League one?

Wouldn't surprise me. Perhaps you know more then me.
I've only read, that the Broncos weren't issuing him a contract, because he was considering retirement. However, that story changes every day. If he does play on next year, I can't really see it being with another NRL club, maybe Titans for a year, but that would be about it.

Read in the paper today Sonny Bill has admitted he has a booze problem after the coppers caught him having a lash in the street:

Oh, & it says Mathers is broken for the season too. Yet another pommie success story in the NRL.
I'll admit he had a rather slow start to his NRL career, but he was starting to look really good the last couple of games before his injury, and ironicly (sp) was playing his best game when he got injured.

Wendell Sailor to join Dragons: report

St George Illawarra is set to sign fallen rugby union star Wendell Sailor.

According to reports in The Australian newspaper, the 32-year-old will sign with the Dragons after his drug ban ends in May next year.

Sailor, a dual international who switched to rugby from rugby league in 2002, had received a two-year ban after testing positive to cocaine following a Waratahs Super 14 game in April 2006.

Sources told the newspaper that the Dragons were looking at playing the winger as a second rower.

NRL chief executive David Gallop said the league would not stand in the way of any club wanting to sign the former Brisbane Bronco.

"If a club comes to us with a contract we would consider whether any special conditions needed to be imposed at the time but as a general proposition once he has served his suspension we would be agreeable to him playing again," Gallop said.

"He's done the crime and he's done the time."

And fair play to the Titans players who are dipping into some of their end-of-season fund to let him go back to England for a while to recover with his family (and as you can probably imagine his missus has all but got her bags packed ready to go).

In other news former prodigal son Craig Wing has returned to Souths for the next four years, Brenton Bowen (cousin of Matt) has signed for the Titans and Hull want Civoniceva for next year. One can assume rugby league is the only worthwhile thing about Hull?
