State Vice-Captain
i doubt he'll get picked tbh...
But you said that yours was potentially the most aggressive in Origin history, but Tallis having more aggression than all of them means that one of the back row combinations with him in it is more aggressive.

anything to get him out of the commentary box would be good!

good bloke. but it's hard work listening to him labouring his way through a match.
not a commentator at all, i think we could do with him at the broncos tbh...

International Coach
Slater and Kafuisi have missed selection for Queensland.

Bellamy just let it slip in the post match press conference.

Mate, I mean backward step in the sense that they've been tried before and they've been discarded. In the Origin arena, size does matter in the backs. Fact is, Bowen was in the same electrifying form last year, as what he is this year - and we know what happened to him when he got picked last year. With a backline featuring Inglis, Hodges, Lockyer and Thurston we'll be able to score enough points.

Therefore, we don't need defensive liabilities like Slater and Bowen. By contrast, Hunt is a good defender and is safe under the high ball. In the end, we've won ONE series in the last five years. I'd rather at least give those guys a chance to re-produce the same as last year than go back to players who have been shown up at Origin level in previous appearances.
Matt Bowen was hardly in as good as form last year, as he is now. He did have a solid start, but his game as a whole and current form is ****loads better than anything he produce last year.

As for Slater, he was never discarded as such. He has been fantastic in every origin series he's participated in, and the only reason he missed out last year was suspension and a lack of match practice, otherwise i think it'd be fair to say he would've got the gig this year due to incumbency, an his brilliant form.

Wow, Brett White. Interesting choice.

And Mullen, no. Way too early. Can't see us winning this series.
And Hayne? El Mazri >>> Hayne, and especially if goal kicking goes become a factor...

No Hoffman? what more does he have to do? Which is good from a Queensland perspective.

fairly predictable sides, White starting is a bit of a shock, i think Bailey may end up starting anyway.

Qld side looks good, i wonder how Inglis will handle the adjustment from 5/8 to wing, very different positions. no surprise Crocker wasnt name given just how little he's played lately and good news for Costigan to get picked, very happy with that...

Fair bit of competition for the backrow, but i would have had him over Tupou personally. Lyon been kicking pretty well, so it wasn't surprising they went for Hayne. Im not sure what the deal is with Lyon possiable suspension, but El Masri will come into the side for im.

Way too early for Mullen, could be the boldest call ever or the biggest flop. He's been playing good but not outstanding to get selected over more experienced players.

I reckon our forward are a fair bit better then Queensland with no Crocker, will come in Johnson anyway i guess. If we are any hope of winning this series it will be on the back of the foward pack.

Best bit about both sides is only three Manly players, loving the selectors for picking players on past experience (in general) over current form. With Matai back and that young gun from Preimer League coming into the centres (Barani or something). We will still have decent backline. Bryant into the starting XI, with Menzies back by the 2nd Orgin match hopefully. Things are looking pretty gun.

the Lyon thing is interesting, Manly were gonna try and name their side early this morning (which has seemed not to happen) to try and get him to serve his suspension in that game.
