Because mate, Bowen gets treated like a rag doll in Origin. Every time he returns a kick he gets driven back. He's hasn't, in the past, been great under the high ball either. You need, as a general rule, big backs in Origin. Slater and Bowen have both been shown up in Origin - the experiment with those guys has been done to death and it would be an unnecessary, retrogressive step to go back to either of them, unless there were injuries.I dont no why Hunts going to be picked tbh Bowen is the form Fullback of the comp tbh
Haha, a backward step to choose Slater or Bowen....you make it sound like they're 30+, in which case i'd agree with you, but they're not, in which case i don't agree. At 24 & 25 both players have 3/4 years experience on Hunt, and both are in far better form. Slater has hardly been shown up at Origin Level, and on current form he's streets ahead of Hunt. If Slater doesn't get at least a spot on the wing it'll be an injustice afaic. Bowen may be small, but this year he's pretty much done everything everyone has said he can't do because of his size etc, i'd also select him ahead of Hunt at a moments notice.Because mate, Bowen gets treated like a rag doll in Origin. Not a backward step in age, more in size. We need Hunt's robustness at the back. And it's not like his form has been terrible. Slater will get a wing spot, and Hunt will be Fullback.Haha, a backward step to choose Slater or Bowen....you make it sound like they're 30+, in which case i'd agree with you, but they're not, in which case i don't agree. Mate, I mean backward step in the sense that they've been tried before and they've been discarded. In the Origin arena, size does matter in the backs. Fact is, Bowen was in the same electrifying form last year, as what he is this year - and we know what happened to him when he got picked last year. With a backline featuring Inglis, Hodges, Lockyer and Thurston we'll be able to score enough points.Haha, a backward step to choose Slater or Bowen....you make it sound like they're 30+, in which case i'd agree with you, but they're not, in which case i don't agree. Tonie Carroll?looks like we need a new lock, Dallas Johnson is at thousands to get away with that hit on Maitua
Tallis has more aggression than the lot of them.Neville Costigan thanks...
i doubt there will ever be a more aggressive backrow potentially in origin history
11 Crocker
12 Webb
13 Costigan
i doubt he'll get picked tbh...Tallis has more aggression than the lot of them.
